The Role

Accountable to the Head of Global Leadership & Organizational Development, and working closely with across internal global teams including Learning & Talent Development, Culture & Engagement, Knowledge Management, People & Culture and Sales Learning & Enablement, this role will play a key role in building, streamlining and scaling our global talent management and talent development programs, processes, infrastructure and tools, helping ensure ApplyBoard’s leaders and teams have the skills and capabilities needed to fuel our growth and enable our future success. We are looking for a skilled, collaborative Manager, Talent Management & Organizational Development, working in close partnership with the Head of Leadership & OD and senior People & Culture leaders, to build/streamline, deploy, enable and scale integrated talent management and talent development practices, processes, systems and tools leveraging our global HR systems (BambooHR, Workday) and tools. Key focuses include building and embedding a company-wide competency framework throughout the employee life cycle/talent processes, talent identification and assessment, development planning, performance management, talent reviews and succession planning. 
Our Manager of Talent Management & Talent Development will be a highly communicative, experienced and collaborative team member with a bias for action, adapts quickly, is solution-oriented and works well globally to develop appropriate global processes, policies and practices to support effective career/talent management and talent development across the organisation, harmonizing our existing processes and supporting the deployment/adoption/sustainment of the new global HR management system (Workday). 

What you'll be doing every day:

    • Contribute to the development and execution of the global learning & talent management/development strategy, plan and goals, linked to our broader ApplyBoard People & Culture agenda. 
    • Partner with internal teams and to understand, refine and streamline or automate and support leaders’ performance management and talent management processes, practices and policies, leveraging existing tools and Workday
    • Leads development and/or refinement of key AB talent processes and infrastructure:
    • Co-develop and embed an ApplyBoard Careers (Competency) Framework
    • Performance management, inc. goal setting, performance feedback, evaluation
    • Employee engagement program & Voice of Employee (VoE) listening surveys
    • Talent assessment
    • Development planning
    • Career development
    • Design, develop and implement effective processes and mechanisms that support effective Career Management and Development across the company, leveraging third party vendors as appropriate.
    • May support and/or lead the development and management of digital learning courseware, mapping learning into pathways by key competencies, job roles, functions
    • May support the implementation of the global HRMS across the organization (Workday Learning, Performance and Talent modules). 
    • Take ownership of and continuously improve our integrated talent management processes and practices, streamlining for a simple, effective leader and employee experience and intended outcome
    • Develop appropriate global processes, policies and practices to manage career & talent development throughout the organization e.g. integrate a development planning process across AB linked to our existing performance management process.
    • Take ownership of and continuously improve the approach and processes linked to employee engagement across ApplyBoard, including the end-to-end process delivery of the annual company employee survey & pulse check surveys, in partnership with a third-party vendor.
    • Help foster a culture of learning, coaching and mentoring across the organization, including the design and delivery of coaching and mentoring processes and solutions.
    • Design and develop effective measurement and evaluation processes that enable us to monitor the evolution of our talent and organizational capabilities over time.
    • Partner closely with other internal learning/development/enablement & knowledge management teams to ensure alignment and integration of best practice sharing across the organization.
    • Leverage external networks to understand trends, identify potential opportunities and gaps, and gather relevant insights that help AB stay at the forefront of talent management & organizational development best practice.

What you bring to the table:

    • Strong project management skills, ideally within a high-growth technology sector
    • Relevant professional experience in talent management, leadership development and organizational development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing high quality, effective talent management/talent development solutions which deliver demonstrable improvements in individual, team as well as organizational capabilities with specific experience across:
    • global performance management and development processes
    • competency management/development
    • career management and development processes
    • global talent management processes (talent reviews, succession planning, talent assessment and development, etc.) in global organizations
    • design, delivery and analysis of employee engagement surveys and data
    • Ability to think and act with a global mindset, demonstrable ability to work effectively in a global setting across multiple time zones.
    • Must possess a learning orientation, able to adapt approach across various audiences
    • Proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities, able to rely on strong personal project management and organizational skills.
    • Acts with high-energy and a bias-for-action, but at the same time demonstrates a collaborative 'co-creation' approach to solution development.
    • Strong communication and change management skills, ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
    • Degree-level education (or equivalent) preferred, ideally in a relevant subject area (such as HR, Business Management, Organizational Psychology, etc.).
    • Experienced managing learning, performance and talent systems (Workday preferred)
