About Insitro

insitro is a data-driven drug discovery and development company that leverages machine learning and high-throughput biology to transform the way medicines are created to help patients.

At insitro, we are rethinking the entire drug discovery process, from the perspective of machine learning, human genetics, and high-throughput, quantitative biology. Over the past five decades, we have seen the development of new medicines becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive, leaving many patients with significant unmet need. We’re embarking on a new approach to drug development – one that leverages machine learning and unique in vitro strategies for modeling disease state and designing new therapeutic interventions. We aim to eliminate key bottlenecks in traditional drug discovery, so we can help more people sooner and at a much lower cost to the patient and the healthcare industry.

Job Description

The Opportunity

Key to insitro’s approach to rethinking drug development is leveraging disease models, genetics, and clinical datasets to link in vitro and cellular phenotypes with patient outcomes.

As a Clinical Data Scientist, you will lead the development of cutting edge statistical approaches and workflows to analyze large-scale multi-modal human phenotypic datasets, including multiple clinical biomarkers, medical imaging, and longitudinal data. You will work with clinical data from both clinical trials and data from large cohorts, such as the UK Biobank, EHRs, and claims data. You will apply and develop machine learning and statistical approaches to identify disease signatures in high-dimensional phenotypic and genomic data, enabling analyses that suggest disease-relevant targets and providing insights that guide the development of in vitro disease models. You will also work closely with a cross-functional team of life scientists, statistical geneticists,  bioengineers and machine learning scientists to integrate human level data with our high-throughput in-house in vitro genomic and phenotypic data to identify therapeutic targets and develop drugs that have high efficacy and low toxicity.

You will be joining as the founding team of a biotech startup that has long-term stability due to significant funding, but yet is in formation. A lot can change in this early and exciting phase, providing many opportunities for significant impact. You will work closely with a very talented team, learn a broad range of skills, and help shape insitro’s culture, strategic direction, and outcomes. Join us, and help make a difference to patients!
