Avail Medsystems is a pioneering medical technology company that is reinventing how medical procedures are supported by industry and clinicians. We are committed to delivering HIPAA compliant real-time video conferencing solutions that improve the quality, and lower the cost, of procedural care delivery. Our first-generation Avail Systems are currently being used to support procedures in the United States. Physicians are able to instantly connect with enhanced on demand support that is better than being there, with added capabilities such as the ability to annotate over live or paused video. We are looking for self-starters, who are good team players, to join us as we transform when, where and how procedural support is delivered.

Position Overview

As a Director of Product Marketing, OUS at Avail, you will be responsible for both upstream and downstream strategy for key markets outside of the United States. You will design the product requirements strategy, messaging, global rollout, operational leadership, product segmentation and initiative development for our global product portfolio. You'll partner with the upstream product and R&D teams, while owning feature requirements. You will engage with Sales and Marcom teams to ensure seamless coordination across diverse markets in the Healthcare space. This position will report to the VP of Product and will be based in our Santa Clara Headquarters.

In the role, you will oversee the execution of robust product launches, innovative customer engagement programs, and the development of associated materials and programs to help us enter key markets outside of the Unites States. You will provide innovative leadership with internal cross-functional  marketing teams as well as our sales force and our surgeon customers. Because you are result-oriented, you take pride in optimizing profit as well as meeting/exceeding marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives by working across diverse internal and external teams. You will have a passion for innovation, particularly in the software and healthcare space, with experience leading marketing programs in either of these disciplines. A keen understanding of user needs and drivers that motivate adoption in the Healthcare space is a must. You will lead, and build a team of product managers to drive and deliver the Avail technology to key markets outside of the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Product Development Strategy

  • Define product pipeline strategy to lead in the market and create market separation in key areas of the globe
  • Drive feature requirements for our Hardware and Software platform to meet unmet clinical needs
  • Rank and prioritize feature needs
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of products and features

Global Marketing Strategy:

  • Drive marketing strategies and tactics that create demand for company products and deliver sales opportunities to the sales force.
  • Collaborate with global and regional partners on digital and branding strategy to develop and fine tune strategic positioning and messaging.
  • Define and validate market requirements with collaboration from cross-functional marketing peers
  • Provide direct technical support to the sales force on product positioning
  • Product segmentation amongst key disciplines
  • KOL development strategy
  • Society, trade show engagement and focus areas
  • Develop programs with Avail as number one Procedural Telemedicine partner for Industry partners and Institutions
  • Own revenue and margin targets within procedure portfolios

Consistent Portfolio Marketing & Execution:

  • Develop marketing campaigns, including core content, messaging and positioning, for procedural portfolio and ensure alignment across regions
  • Educate and engage Sales teams, Industry Partners, and Surgeons on your products and platforms
  • Collaborate with Operations and Logistics teams on allocation requirements
  • Oversee development of marketing materials & awareness campaigns
  • Oversee marketing execution in regions to ensure consistent approach and strategy
  • Coordinate product launch execution with cross-functional teams
  • Lead cross-functional teams in post market assessment, user feedback and needs

Regional / Discipline Coordination:

  • Serve as point of contact for regions for marketing related matters
  • Ensure regional and surgical discipline requirements are incorporated as inputs in product management and product development processes as well as downstream marketing requests (e.g., support)
  • Support regions and various surgical disciplines in adapting global downstream marketing strategy and campaigns to region-specific circumstances
  • Communicate all market requirements for current and future products (min. 2-3 years out)
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the relevant targeted market(s) including customer needs assessments, knowledge of competitive options, and market opportunity assessments

Required Skills / Capabilities

  • Strong business acumen: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Confluence and Atlassian programs, with a strong ability to write business reports, marketing materials, and correspondence
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak effectively and motivate groups of customers, employees, and management/executive team of organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively, prioritize and smoothly manage goals and initiatives amidst competing priorities
  • Self-starter with ability to problem solve and establish solutions in a high-growth and fast-pace environment
  • Ability to think critically with a strong attention to detail
  • Cross-functional lead with motivation to get “hands-on” while also driving and creating long term strategy
  • Ability to become proficient across multiple clinical applications, and products
  • Team building and leadership experience

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related product marketing experience in transformative or novel medical device and/or software space, with a preference for candidates that have data driven marketing experience
  • Management of teams/direct reports
  • Proven ability to wear multiple hats and manage high priority projects in a fast paced, startup environment.
