Job Description

We are looking for an experienced accountant to help maintain our financial data and reporting across multiple P&L’s. This person will be a critical team member of the accounting team, responsible for monthly and year-end closings, policy and procedure roll-outs, for this rapidly growing wellness business with multiple revenue streams. 

In this role, you’ll work closely with our VP of Finance and key cross-functional business partners. You’ll play an instrumental role in helping us build strong record keeping infrastructure to support growth and scale. A successful candidate will be extremely organized and detail oriented.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and close

  • Manage and lead period end close

  • Complete financial statements as part of month-end close

  • Review and completion of monthly ledger account reconciliations and reporting 

  • Assist senior finance team with financial statement audits

  • Providing special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Reporting significant issues or discrepancies to management

  • Maintain customer and vendor records including W-9 forms

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure proper accrual of unrecorded payables on a monthly basis

  • Assisting on an ad-hoc reporting requests

Transactions (oversight and management)

  • Approving and reviewing new vendor agreements

  • Ensure vendor invoices are reconciled in a quick and accurate manner

  • Ensure that Accounts Payables are paid in a timely manner

  • Management of credit card costs and reconciliation

  • Management of all overhead costs

  • Process credit card payments and record daily incoming cash transactions

  • Respond to customer and vendor billing inquiries in a timely and professional manager (e.g. payment discrepancies, account changes)

  • Maintain A/R and A/P Aging reports with detailed notes

 

Qualifications/Skills:

 

  • BA/BS degree, CPA strongly preferred

  • 4-5 years of relevant work experience

  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks

  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP

  • Quick thinker and natural problem solver
