Job Description

The job of a Symbiont Support Engineer is to work closely with our clients and partners as they adopt our software and to provide general support for the products of ours that they use. This involves the monitoring, administration and updating of node software, integration with existing infrastructure and software systems, and ensuring that our solution to meet client’s business needs.

A Support Engineer must proactively assist with any technical issues that arise post deployment and use of the Symbiont platform. This involves troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis as well as identifying and implementing permanent solutions and workarounds, both during normal business hours as part of an on-call rotation.

A Support Engineer is responsible for interfacing closely with the rest of the operations and engineering team, in particular to reproduce any issues discovered externally, and to ensure that these issues are resolved satisfactorily. He or she is the customer’s primary point of contact for all technical issues that arise in the use of Symbiont’s product, and acts as the customer’s advocate during the time of reconciliation for any issues.


  • At least one year of professional experience
  • Basic comprehension of Python/Ruby/Shell scripting
  • Familiarity with IaaS
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk and or Datadog
  • Experience with modern logging, monitoring and alerting techniques and tools


  • At least two years of experience supporting mission-critical systems in production
  • Experience working with IT departments of large financial institutions and deploying software there
  • Experience working with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
