Role Summary:

As a Senior Staff Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be part of a team that leads the effort in building and scaling the technical foundations that will allow Globality to empower business critical services.

We need your expertise with containerized provisioning, CI/CD technologies, metrics, monitoring and all the various other aspects of a modern pipeline delivering code to a multi-cloud environment with enterprise-grade features to improve resilience, scalability, durability, security, compliance, manageability, observability, and cost optimization built-in to the core system.  You are passionate about building a cohesive compute and microservices infrastructure focused on simplicity and scale. You will work on producing mission-critical platforms, tools, and processes that will ensure the highest levels of availability and reliability of all our services.

What you will be doing:

  • Be part of a team that builds and provisions enterprise-grade data and messaging platform
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for code deployment, management, and visibility of application services
  • Develop tools and frameworks to automate operational tasks, deployment of instances, services, and applications
  • Work with development teams to integrate deployments with configuration management frameworks
  • Debugging and fixing operational issues, such as problems with configurations, provisioning, and user access
  • You will keep a keen eye on security issues in every project you work on, contributed to improving security in the systems that were already in place

What we are looking for:

You’ll be a good fit for this role if you:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in building and scaling enterprise software and distributed infrastructure
  • 8+ years of Software Development Life Cycle experience
  • 8+ years of public cloud experience (AWS, GCP)
  • 5+ years of experience with containerization technologies
  • Prior experience specifically in a DevOps-style Infrastructure Engineering or Systems Engineering required
  • Truly understand “Infrastructure as code”
  • Can successfully partner with our global development teams to help ensure their services are production ready, adhering to our standards and methodologies in our pipeline
  • Feel comfortable working toward delivering an end-to-end seamless CI/CD pipeline, with a goal of delivering code into production as swiftly as possible, while working with the QE/QA and SRE teams to ensure that code is production-worthy.
  • Have the ability to design, author, and release code in languages like Python, Go, bash, Ruby, or Java, adhering to the same level of discipline that we expect from the Software Dev teams.
  • Have a passion for fully automating manual operations and improving them through iterative development
  • Have hands-on experience managing large numbers of diverse systems with configuration management or software delivery platforms (such as Ansible, Spinnaker, Terraform, etc)
  • Have experience with deploying, supporting, and monitoring new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks
  • Have excellent troubleshooting (and problem solving) skills
  • Have experience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning
  • Are team-oriented and generous with your abilities and convey a willingness to teach and mentor others
  • Have a strong sense of ownership and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration
