Modernizing Medicine is delivering truly disruptive and transformative products and services that will impact the healthcare industry.  The work we do makes a difference. Our web and mobile applications are transforming healthcare information technology to increase practice efficiency and improve patient outcomes. We offer end-to-end specialty-specific solutions from practice management, through EMR to Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) that maximize office interactions, patient visits, collections and reimbursements.

Modernizing Medicine’s User Experience team is looking for a summer intern who is currently pursuing a degree in user-centered design, user research or related fields.

As a UX intern, you’ll work on complex research and design challenges and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use solutions for thousands of medical practices around the country.

Achieving this goal requires collaboration with a team of UX designers, developers, and product managers throughout the design process—from creating wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. You will work with our team to better understand our users’ needs through UX research studies and to help validate our designs.

You may be a great fit for Modernizing Medicine’s internship program, IF…

  • You are currently enrolled in a BA/BS or MS degree program in interaction design, human-computer interaction, experimental psychology, human factors, or related field
  • Have an understanding of user research methods including usability testing, card sorting, user interviews, surveys, and contextual inquiries
  • Willingness to "wear multiple hats" and perform UX-related tasks in a small team environment

Your Role:

  • Support the user research needs of our product management team during the design and development of our web and mobile products
  • Contribute to design deliverables that support the user-centered design process including the creation of wireframes, screen flows, high fidelity mockups and prototypes

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BA/BS or MS degree program in interaction design, human-computer interaction, experimental psychology, human factors, or related field
  • Knowledge and experience with at least one design application (e.g. Adobe XD, Sketch App, Figma)
  • Ability to take direction, but still be self-driven and comfortable communicating ideas and points of view
  • A portfolio (either class assignments and/or professional) that demonstrates user research and design experience for web and/or mobile platforms
