Job Description

The person we are looking for will be in the driver’s seat, evangelizing our bold vision for a fundamental shift in the way teaching and learning happens. We are seeking an experienced product marketing leader with the ability to develop a deep understanding of our market and our products, and translate that insight into impactful messaging, launches, collateral, enablement and go-to-market strategy.

You Will:

    • You will become the expert on our market. You will design and execute market research, both formal and informal, and glean nuanced insights that will help inform our roadmaps and hone our messaging, pricing and more.
    • You’ll learn the competitive landscape inside-out so that you can effectively position our products in the market, and inform product strategy.
    • You will explore, identify and effectively communicate the new buyer, market and product opportunities that will help Top Hat grow our educational impact in the world.
    • You’ll become a product expert. You will deeply understand how Top Hat uniquely addresses customer needs, making it your main goal to express that value in compelling messaging for external and internal audiences. You’ll develop visionary, compelling pitch decks, presentations and product demos that wow the audience.
    • You’ll launch new products and features that drive deeper product engagement, helping professors and students get even more out of Top Hat.
    • You’ll arm customer-facing teams with collateral, content and training that make it easy for them to communicate our value proposition and the impact Top Hat has in the classroom. 
    • You will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success and Product leadership to define and execute go-to-market strategy and campaigns for both prospects and customers.

You Are:

    • You have 6+ years experience in product marketing. Experience in educational technology is a plus.
    • You are well-versed in enterprise buyers / B2B.
    • You are analytical: you know how to research and develop a deep understanding of segments of buyers, their challenges and how our products uniquely address their needs.
    • You are forward-thinking: you thrive on having a constant pulse on the market and can effectively and proactively cull insights so that Top Hat can capitalize on those trends.
    • You are a talented communicator: you are an extremely compelling writer and presenter and can tailor your communication style and content to the audience. You’re good with the words!
    • You are a dot-connector and a systems thinker: you can quickly take learnings from one project and use them to inform other team projects.
    • You are a leader: you have experience leading a team, working with senior leaders across the business, and knowing when to leverage the tools of  inquiry and advocacy to gain alignment.
    • You are a team player: you have experience working in marketing teams and can be a driver or supporter on campaign, website and collateral development.
    • You are collaborative: you are at ease working with Product, Sales, Customer Success and Marketing stakeholders on a regular basis and are adept at getting everyone on the same page.
    • You are adaptable: you possess a unique combined skilled set of strategic thinking and hands-on tactical execution that deliver results. And you are flexible to re-prioritize on the fly without sacrificing utmost attention to detail.
    • You have an entrepreneurial mindset: you will relish the opportunity to continue building out the Product Marketing function at Top Hat and taking it to the next level of maturity. Your motivation comes from within, not from above.
