THE ORGANIZATION

We have replaced the conventional management hierarchy and organized ourselves using Holacracy.

THE ROLE

Labster is looking for a bright and talented Art Director with experience working within an established marketing team.

You’ll be leading the overall vision of how Labster’s message and image are visually conveyed to the world. You will work with the digital designer and other stakeholders to create visually engaging assets for Labster, in the form of static visuals, branded documents, videos and animations.

This ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development of graphics and visual designs for both online and offline marketing activities and will have demonstrable knowledge and experience in graphic design and digital marketing, as well as possessing natural creativity with an eye for detail.

    Build, lead, and review work of the design team in the production of all web, print, and digital marketing collateral
    Spearhead and manage design strategy for both small-scale and large-scale projects, harnessing strategy, digital and brand design, compelling content, and technology
    Collaborate with the marketing team to translate marketing objectives across business units into clear and motivating creative strategies
    Conduct brainstorming sessions with Labster’s marketing team, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives.
    Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences.
    Present, or oversee presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
    Be an ambassador of the company brand, ensuring consistent design is followed across all externally facing platforms
    Work closely with the wider organization to meet Labster’s design requirements
    Prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs, establishing and communicating timelines to set realistic expectations for internal stakeholders.

    Minimum of 10 years graphic design experience
    Must have experience and be proficient in using the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
    Proficiency in HTML coding and development for email using responsive design and email coding best practices
    Must have a portfolio demonstrating previous experience in creating both online and offline content
    An eye for design, excellent attention to detail
    A great understanding of graphic design principles, color theory, and their applicability in digital and social media
    Ability to work to the highest standards while keeping to deadlines
    Able to prioritise workloads/effective time management
    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, in a fast pace and dynamic environment
    Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

You’ll be working alongside our Digital Design Specialist to lead the design strategy for Labster and reporting to the Head of Marketing.
