About the role

Based in London, you’ll be closely working with the Product and Engineering Teams on the work to improve our platform moving towards a microservice architecture, focusing on continuous delivery, scalability and system resilience. This role will work closely with the Product Manager and facilitate cross functional collaboration, provide detailed domain mapping and support the squads in ensuring stories are understood, broken down and drive business outcomes. Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and a love of detail are all must-have traits.

What a Business Analyst is at WordRemit:

The business analyst's primary objective is to implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating and reporting them clearly to stakeholders. BAs are responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess and refine processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. Every project will leverage subject matter expertise across the team, and exchange knowledge and ideas to improve delivery.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering Programmes, you will:

  • Plan, execute and deliver new engineering projects

  • Identify the architectural 360s required, and ensure they are completed and signed off 

  • Manage requirements creation, management, tracking and reporting throughout the project:

    • Create and manage Epics, Stories and Tasks in Jira

    • Consider functional and non-functional requirements

    • Work closely with Scrum Masters, Developers, QA and DevOps/CloudOps 

  • Deliver accurate and comprehensive data analysis via DB queries to deliver business solutions

  • Establish centralised repository of information, ensuring project is documented for other dev teams to easily reference

  • Report weekly on metrics, obstacles, plan and delivery schedule as well as RAG status reports

  • Plan Stakeholder handover in advance of project completion 

  • Communicate Project Value Proposition and Roadmap for Business Review

What we’re looking for from you

  • Experience as a Business Analyst

    • Ability to thrive in face-paced environment

    • Ability to lead short/mid term projects with new teams

    • Enjoy working with ambiguity whilst driving clarity

  • Proven track record of delivering business value through technology

    • Migration of services and content

    • Creation of new services and content

    • Scalability, reliability and maintainability underpin all services

    • Establishing dashboard(s) and baselines of services to monitor and alert
