About the role

Commercial Finance is accountable for business partnering, forecasting and internal and external reporting. Our purpose is to create value, ensure operational excellence and drive growth, and we have 18 team members, structured as follows: Two teams support the International and Americas business units; a central cost team will partner with technology, customer service and corporate functions, and Group FP&A. This role encompasses the latter two areas, where you will be directing a team of 5.

As a member of WorldRemit’s Finance team you will aim high, embrace challenge and always do what’s right; acting with integrity and building trust as you contribute to the company’s technical direction and long term decision making.
 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Finance, you will:

  • Own Financial Planning for WorldRemit Group:

    • Coordinate the annual 3YP, budget and quarterly re-forecasting process, presenting the outputs to CEO/CFO and advising on strategic choices at Group level.

    • Assist the Treasury function to forecast working capital requirements

  • Own Group-level financial reporting:

    • Work with business-facing teams to understand drivers of performance and assimilate these in a succinct and insightful manner for CEO/CFO

    • Comprehend and explain differences in drivers of performance between business units. 

    • Prepare performance reporting materials for Board and other external stakeholders including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.

    • Ensure accuracy of reporting, including currency considerations

  • Own the NetSuite financial planning and reporting system (sits on top of NetSuite General Ledger, owned by the Group Financial Control team)

  • Direct the Central cost team:

    • Act as business partner to CFO, CPO, CTO, and Customer Service Director on points of escalation

    • Assist these functions to ensure they fully appreciate their cost bases (including monthly variance reviews), and evidence strong cost discipline

  • Other ad-hoc projects

What we’re looking for from you...

  • Chartered Accountant with minimum 8 years PQE in Group FP&A roles at mid-large cap businesses

  • Comprehensive technical understanding of financial statements, including working capital

  • High standards and attention to detail

  • Able to direct strategic finance debate at corporate level, e.g. EBITDA and balance sheet management, leverage, liquidity, but equally comfortable and willing to engage in detail. 

  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, able to distil complex drivers into simple narrative

  • Top academics and self-starter, thrives in fast-paced environment and able to deliver under pressure

  • Strong stakeholder management skills
