Choco is a fast growing tech start-up,based in Berlin. It is our mission to massively reduce food waste on a global scale. We do so by connecting food suppliers and restaurants on one global marketplace. The company was founded in March 2018 by entrepreneurs who helped start companies such as Zalando (MDAX), Lazada (sold to Alibaba) and Foodora (sold to DeliveryHero, SDAX). We have validated a product-market-fit and are now ramping up for international expansion.

To do this, we have raised one of the largest Series A funding rounds in European history. We are now looking for highly motivated individuals, who are able to assume a great deal of responsibility and take an important role in our global expansion. 


What you will do

As a Workplace Manager in one of our offices globally, you will be responsible to ensure our People Operations Team's mission to put together the smartest and best people and ensure they can excel in their environment & teams. You will oversee the general office operations and own the administrative processes in Berlin. In addition, culture is everything to us and you will drive cultural initiatives at the workplace. 

  • Own the operations at our workplaces in Berlin
  • Hold down the fort (ready to solve common office problems as they arise)
  • Create a superb, comfortable workspace that is aligned with our sustainability value
  • Help set up & automate local processes (invoicing, liaising with payroll provider, equipment orders)
  • Be an operational all-rounder, ensuring a high level of administrative support is provided to all the Chocorians in your region
  • Be an advocate of our culture and values in the respective regional office and help organize team events that surpass any expectations
  • Build and manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and landlords, including budget control and contract negotiation.
  • Responsible for all the purchases in the office (beverages, fruits, office equipment..etc.)

The ideal candidate brings

  • 2+ years of experience in the administration field 
  • Professional experience in office management is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, friendly, confidential
  • Knowledgeable about Berlin’s bureaucracy and environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skill
  • Fluent in German (both verbally and written) and have a good knowledge of English
  • Good knowledge of office application
  • Knowledge of how to implement sustainable practices is a plus
