Team: Big Data Engine (DOS Platform Engineering)

Travel: <10%, US

Location: US Remote

The Big Data Engine team is focused on expanding capabilities for the DOS Data Processing engine into enabling Snowflake, Spark, and other big data technologies that are beneficial to Health Catalyst clients.   This is a Program/Product Manager role responsible for helping the engineering team navigate technical and non-technical activities, prioritize new development against both strategic and tactical demands, and provide effective support for the technology.

What you’ll own:

    The team's roadmap - maintaining plans for the upcoming 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 6 months, and beyond
    Prioritization of the team's backlog leveraging input from the team, DOS Engineering Leadership, market research, and stakeholders
    Management of product features down to a development plan through requirements gathering efforts (translate roadmap to tactical/workable backlog)
    The complete product including documentation of features, release notes, product descriptions, usability of the products, etc.
    Writing user acceptance criteria and answering clarifying questions from developers
    With help from the Engineering Lead, highlight and execute discovery work that will help understand and demonstrate the value, feasibility, and usability of potential features

Experience you’ll need:

    Knowledge of industry concepts related to Massively Parallel Processing, distributed storage, and Azure
    Experience with modern data-pipeline development
    Experience with existing DOS tools - Source Mart Designer, Subject Area Mart Designer - preferred
    Proficiency with development management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
    BS/BA in in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other technology/science degree preferred

    Tools – Git, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Docker, command line interfaces
    Services – IIS, Nginx, RabbitMQ
    Azure – Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Blob Storage, App Service, Databricks, Data Factory, and more
    Data Stores – SQL Server, Snowflake, ElasticSearch
    Frameworks/Standards – ASP.NET Web API, OData, OAuth2, OIDC
    Healthcare Specific Standards – HL7v2, CCD, FHIR
