Avail Medsystems is a pioneering medical technology company that is reinventing how medical procedures are supported by industry and clinicians. We are committed to delivering HIPAA compliant real-time video conferencing solutions that improve the quality, and lower the cost, of procedural care delivery. Our first-generation Avail Systems are currently being used to support procedures in the United States. Physicians are able to instantly connect with enhanced on demand support that is better than being there, with added capabilities such as the ability to annotate over live or paused video. We are looking for self-starters, who are good team players, to join us as we transform when, where and how procedural support is delivered.

Position Overview

The Senior Software Program Manager will help drive Avail’s engineering deliverable initiative spanned across company by primary working with engineering team and peers in program management organization. This position report to the Program Lead and is located at our headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.  Remote employment is not an option.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Sr. Software Program Manager in engineering organization, you will be working closely with software development teams to run software programs on daily basis.
  • Responsible for executing end-to-end programs, facilitating feature planning lock down and build agreement within cross-functional teams for feature development.
  • Execute on software release planning and prioritize software deliverables, align teams on execution, creating program structure, and securing cross-functional support.
  • Manage all software components, backlog, meetings, sprints, and scrums. Own Jira projects, workflows and dashboards – Issue type Pie chart, Burndown chart, etc.
  • Manage "program/feature" dependencies across multiple scrum teams and functional areas and make sure same is also reflected in Jira state.
  • Drive teams through the software engineering experience using Agile methodology.
  • Review workload assignment and development team members' expected tasks and hours such as story points on a weekly basis.
  • Support workgroup alignment meetings to address tactical release planning issues, dependencies, team status, production issues, metrics review, milestones, etc.
  • Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down or prevent project teams from delivering on project goals. Communicate risks, and work on mitigation/resolution in a timely effective manner.
  • Provide periodic progress updates status (key achievements, dependencies, issues, risks) to all stakeholders. Arrange deep dive into state of project on regular interval. Effectively manage parallel release lines as need may arise.
  • Provide necessary support for regulatory documentation by working with engineering stakeholders.
  • Always execute in collaborative environment that fuel trust, sense of ownership and growth in organization.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of overall experience with minimum 4+ years focused on software technical program/project management.
  • Proficiency in Agile development tools such as Jira and working knowledge of Git-lab and CI-CD pipelines is must.
  • Ability to drive, contribute and communicate solutions against program challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and provide objective metrics and KPIs to measure success.
  • Detail oriented, willing to get into as much detail as necessary to successfully deliver programs.

Desired Skills, Not required:

  • Past experience working on Medical/Regulatory industry is desired but not must.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Scrum master certification.
