About the Position: 
This role is responsible for overseeing Cotopaxi’s external employment branding as a company of choice, while engaging candidates and creating visibility to the company’s mission, vision, values and DEI initiatives. The role will own both inbound and outbound recruiting activity, while partnering with Hiring Managers and C-suite executives. 

Primary Responsibilities (Recruitment and Onboarding)

  • JazzHR administration - optimizes recruitment platform (JazzHR) to capitalize on functionality:
    • Job postings: develops templates and guidelines for consistently branded job postings; trains managers on process to support branding efforts
    • Workflows: coordinates with Hiring Managers to develop questionnaires, knock-out questions, and more in order to provide deeper candidate review at initial application stag
    • Communication/Automation: maximizes use of JazzHR communication tools to encourage candidate engagement and timely communication
  • Inbound candidate review/applicant screening:
    • Identifies candidates who meet minimum qualifications; ensure their alignment on compensation expectations, that they are accretive to our culture, mission/vision/values, and DEI initiatives
    • Makes recommendations for “next-round” candidates, providing candidate information and summary of initial findings to Hiring Managers
    • Manages pipeline/interview coordination according to Hiring Manager preference (i.e. Hiring Manager, Stakeholder/Panel, CEO), and communicates to those applicants not selected for future consideration
    • May conduct external reference checks
  • Outbound/targeted candidate review:
    • Utilizes LinkedIn and other tools to identify and solicit potential candidates
    • Initiates sales-oriented contact with potential candidates to inform and educate on brand, culture, and mission/vision/values while creating interest in open positions, and extending invitation to apply
  • Partnership/relationship management:
    • Partners with Hiring Managers to firm up job descriptions and/or convert them to job postings. 
    • Establishes trust and credibility as a key partner to understand and deliver on Hiring Managers’ expectations, timelines, and objectives in the initial candidate review and selection process
    • Establishes partnerships with external vendors to maximize resources available
  • Employer branding:
    • Establishes and maintains employer branding in the labor market using various professional and/or social media outlets (i.e. LinkedIn, Comparably, Instagram, etc.)
  • Onboarding - facilitates a number of post-offer, pre-hire, and 30/60/90 day initiatives to:
    • Ensure candidate engagement and consistent communication post-offer up through Day One on the job
    • Ensure a consistent candidate onboarding experience 
    • Prepare for candidate arrival (may include ordering equipment, establishing user software accounts, ordering welcome swag, etc.)
    • Coordinate, maintain and ensure candidate/new hire completion of the company's first 90 days onboarding program

Secondary Responsibilities (Generalist)
When recruitment/onboarding volume is low, this role may serve as a back-up and/or support to the People Operations Manager in a variety of duties which may include:

  • Administration of the Zenefits HRIS platform:
    • Tracks Zenefits tickets/cases to maintain momentum on completion/resolution
    • Audits/updates system to ensure accuracy of information
    • Creates ad-hoc reports as needed
    • Explores new/better configuration or process management using Zenefits (applies to benefits, time off, time & attendance, performance management, compliance/external reporting, more)
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Serves as back up to People Operations Manager to deliver New Hire Benefits Orientation
    • May answer employee questions regarding coverage, enrollment, benefits administration
  • Payroll inputs: 
    • Assists in the preparation of semi-monthly payroll including entry of bonus/supplemental pay, other ad hoc needs
  • Compliance - may contribute to or own employment-related compliance tasks such as:
    • Responding to unemployment claim inquiries
    • Assisting in organization of employee data used for compliance reporting (workers compensation, EEO, etc.) 
    • I-9 Verification/E-Verification process
    • Employer communication requirements/workplace posters, etc. 
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Complete employment verifications
    • Participate in performance management, compensation, benefits, wellness, culture initiatives as needed

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
  • Three years of direct recruiting experience managing all phases of the process
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems as both a user and system administrator
  • Proactive sourcing tactics and proven initiative in managing candidate pipeline, time to offer, and identifying the best candidates
  • Excellent time management abilities and a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with a wide range of individuals
  • Proficiency in GSuite tools including Google Drive and documents; Slack, Spreadsheet skills, and ability to create slide decks and present are all assets as well
