As Production Manager, Robotics at Auterion Inc., you will wear multiple hats and be the person responsible on site for the production and final assembly operations including sourcing, contract manufacturer selection and collaboration, inventory & quality management, production planning and lean manufacturing, assembly and final testing of our integrated flight controller Skynode, our ground controller Skynav and of the assembly and testing of our drone systems and integrated payload offerings.

We are looking for candidates that are inspired to own the management of an agile high end manufacturing shop, to work closely with internal and external engineering, product and manufacturing teams, know lean methods and can apply them in a very dynamic tech company environment. You will report directly to the COO, Thomas Götschmann and work with stakeholders across the global company in Engineering, Product, Marketing and Customer Success.

In detail you will:

  • Manage and improve sourcing, manufacturing, assembly and testing of Auterion’s integrated flight controller Skynode, Auterion ground control station Skynav and further assembly and final testing of multiple drone solution sales (combination of hardware and software systems) combined to enable end-to-end workflows for our Enterprise, OEM & Government customers 
  • Develop and optimize process instructions, line layout, fixtures and equipment, be responsible for the selection & maintenance of tooling and equipment and manage & improve manufacturing yield
  • Act as manufacturing engineering liaison to product design and engineering team
  • Work with suppliers to prioritize and solve manufacturing and design related issues and drive all design, material, process, and equipment issues to closure
  • Perform first article and incoming inspections to ensure compliance of procured parts and materials (dispositioning non-conforming product as necessary).
  • Drive continuous improvement through the supply chain, resulting in reduced cycle time, increased yields and improved cost.

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US-only data systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field, electrical or mechanical multi-discipline experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a low to mid-volume, prototype-like / high mix, manufacturing and production environment is desired.
  • Experience in bringing up manufacturing, interest in electrical engineering and general experience to work in a growing start-up environment is beneficial.
  • Solid work experience with sourcing and contract manufacturing management and working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques and quality control.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, limitations & procedures including UAS assembly, PCB design, testing equipment, prototyping etc. 
  • You’re a hands-on manager and have an eye for detail, have business acumen and are an excellent communicator with demonstrated experience communicating to senior management and project stakeholders. You have excellent cross-functional people management skills, consensus-building skills, risk mitigation skills, and excellent verbal and written skills.
