Our New York office is located in Midtown near the iconic Bryant Park and the historic Grand Central Terminal, New York's best connected office neighborhood. The beautifully designed office has 360 views and tall windows to bring the outside in. We have a communal kitchen that brings the team together for Family Lunch and Happy Hours. The office is open plan with plenty of rooms and booths to take a private call, have time to relax and work in private or have a large collaborative meeting.
We're looking for a Payroll Manager to evaluate, develop, and improve processes to help us reach best in class payroll for the US and Canada, working within a global structure and a key member of our North America People team. You will oversee all aspects of payroll operations for North America, and develop and mentor a small team. This role will be responsible for full-cycle accurate payroll processing, which ensures adherence to state and federal wage and hour laws. The ideal candidate for this role has extensive payroll experience and is energized by the opportunity to improve and look for opportunities to improve current processes. You report to the Head of People Operations in North America.


    • You will oversee payroll processing, payroll funding and tax filing for multi-state payroll for US and Canada.
    • You will evaluate current payroll and related timekeeping systems, payroll processes, vendors, systems, and tools
    • You will monitor and implement statutory updates for regulations relating to time tracking, leave and absence, and payroll for US and Canada
    • You will oversee payroll tax process, including filing of federal and state withholding forms and year-end reporting obligations
    • You will manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers
    • You will mange SOX compliance processes related to payroll and stay current on regulations, benefit changes, and labor laws related to the payroll process
    • You will manage and administrate the business registration process for new states and localities for payroll tax accounts
    • You will support with projects such as integrations and payroll implementations
    • You will oversee and review government payroll reports (DFEH, EEO-1), EDD submissions and garnishments


    • You have a bachelor's degree or 5+ year of equivalent experience
    • You have experience with payroll accounting, including accounting and reconciliation of multi-state payroll taxes, and extensive working knowledge of payroll taxation
    • You have experience with variable hourly and salaried payroll, and commission payments.
    • You are a certified Payroll Profession (CPP) preferred
    • You have a solid understanding of stock and equity disbursement and related tax implications
    • You have experience with Workday and ADP
    • You have a clear written and verbal communication skills
    • You are a master of organization with an ability to work to tight deadlines
