Job Description

Sift’s People Operations team is looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about all things People Ops, and who operates with uncompromising integrity, attention to detail, a can-do attitude, and a firm growth mindset.

Role Responsibilities

  • Employee engagement & employee experience
    • Be an advocate and resource for employees. Operate as a first point of contact regarding employee questions, and advise on the day-to-day execution and interpretation of relevant People Ops guidelines, processes, and programs.
    • Coordinate with the Workplace team to drive employee engagement, culture, and recognition practices.
    • Participate in the facilitation and coordination of employee training programs and People Ops program development, as needed.
    • Track progress and completion of manager and employee deliverables for People Ops processes.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding:
    • Work with the broader People Team to ensure a seamless new hire and onboarding experience across the organization.
    • Manage new hire onboarding content and programs, and ensure initial new hire set up including I-9 administration and the background check process.
    • Coordinate and track onboarding curriculum progress for new hires, and update or propose changes to the onboarding content and program, as needed.
    • Manage employee offboarding process including related systems, communication, and compliance activities.
  • Operations & Compliance:
    • Oversee payroll and benefits processing for employees, ensuring that internal reporting systems are optimized and reconciled accurately.
    • Assist with creating, maintaining, and updating People Ops team templates & documentation. Maintain employee records and ensure they are kept accurate and up-to-date.
    • Manage employee related immigration processes, and collaborate closely with Sift’s immigration counsel.
    • Work closely with third-party vendors to administer benefits, employee leaves, and manage PEO employees.
    • Operate as the primary point of contact for employment verification letters & requests.
    • Partner closely with Sift’s People & Legal teams to ensure compliance of Sift’s policies and practices. Responsible for periodic as well as ongoing compliance tracking and reporting. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Responsible for data entry, data audits, and reporting for People Ops data & systems


Desired Skills and Attributes

  • 3+ years of experience desired in HR/People operations or data administration roles. Prior experience at a technology company strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now required.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and spreadsheets is required.
  • Solid knowledge of HR Practices, Federal & State employment laws
  • Strong project management skills, strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, and written/oral communication skills. Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills. 
  • Self-driven, with a proven ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ability to handle confidential information professionally and with discretion.
  • PHR/SPHR certification (or equivalent) a plus.
