About this Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team to support our VP, Controller in all areas of operational accounting, revenue, month-end close, and audits. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical accounting skills, a team-first mentality, and the ability to remain agile in high-growth and dynamic environment.

 

What You Will Do

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, implement key internal controls and find opportunities to shorten the timeline
  • Direct and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Revenue, Commissions and Payroll functions
  • Oversight of core accounting responsibilities including financial statement preparation, flux analysis, actuals vs budget, and ensuring key financial reporting reflects the team's underlying knowledge of the business
  • Lead the financial audit process, including preparing materials and working with the external auditors
  • Optimize and maintain our accounting software stack which includes NetSuite, Tipalti, ADP, Salesforce, and Expensify; evaluate opportunities for further automation as well as identifying gaps where additional automation would be helpful
  • Manage and mentor a growing team of people managers, aiding in guidance regarding career development for their respective teams
  • Lead audit, statutory business, and tax filings for multiple entities
  • Oversee special projects and support finance leadership and other partners as needs arise

 

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of relevant accounting experience at some combination of start-ups, public companies, and/or public accounting firms; IPO experience preferred
  • CPA or CA with excellent technical accounting skills, with a detailed understanding of GAAP standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805)
  • Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and engaging with internal and external partners
  • Experienced in evolving processes, SOX 404 (b) controls implementation, and systems to support a high-growth company
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and adjust quickly to changing priorities
