Duolingo is the most popular language learning application in the world, with over 300 million users. You’ll join Duolingo’s growing engineering organization to build and maintain Duolingo products and lead technical initiatives for the company overall.

This is an opportunity to drive marketing technology [MarTech] project management at Duolingo. You will join a quickly growing team at the intersection between marketing, analytics and engineering. You will be responsible for the evaluation, onboarding, implementation, and enhancement of our marketing tech; including mobile marketing attribution (adjust), CRM platforms, marketing data and more.

You Will...

  • Help us build a MarTech stack and own relationships with third-party vendors
  • Help us create processes, tools and a team to drive marketing technology development 
  • Partner with data science, engineering, and marketing to build a marketing attribution framework to drive Duolingo’s paid acquisition decisions 
  • Be the marketing team’s go-to person for MarTech and related engineering questions and requests 
  • Enhance our integration with Adjust and other marketing partners to better utilize them
  • Lead the delivery of strategic, high-impact cross-functional initiatives from ideation to launch
  • Leverage technical expertise to develop thorough plans with key milestones and goals, identify and mitigate risks, solve for dependencies, remove impediments, and ensure timely and smooth project launches 
  • Drive decisions when difficult tradeoffs must be made; serve as role model for navigating problems with analytical approach and calming demeanor 

You Have...

  • Worked as a product manager or marketer, including significant experience working at the intersection of marketing and technology
  • Experience with MMPs and attribution tools such as Adjust, Branch, Google Analytics, RockerBox, etc
  • Experience with CRM/messaging platforms like Braze, Iterable, Intercom, etc is a plus
  • Experience with data/CDPs like mParticle or Segment is a plus
  • Ability to move quickly and drive collaborative teams to a solution, including finding alternatives to projects that require heavy involvement from Engineering
  • Ability to operate as both a strategist / leader and roll up your sleeves to execute
  • Ability to operate effectively even with only high-level direction in a fast-paced environment, with a desire both to learn new techniques and teach others

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in a data-oriented marketing or software project management role, ideally a B2C subscription-based business
  • 2+ years experience in building MarTech solutions and onboarding/maintaining mobile attribution platforms
  • B.S. or M.S. in Information Systems or other technical marketing field, or equivalent degree or experience
  • Ability to relocate to New York City or Pittsburgh, PA

Outstanding Candidates Will Have... 

  • 5+ years experience setting up a marketing tech infrastructure for mobile apps
  • Experience with Google Cloud and/or AWS
  • Experience working with teams and technical projects distributed across the globe, including China
  • Advanced analytical skills a plus
  • Experience running projects that include machine learning and large datasets
  • Experience articulating business questions, and using available data to find answers that translate into business recommendations
