The Organization

Position Overview

Labster is looking for a highly capable IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to our team members. In this role, your duties will include ensuring optimal use of our hardware and software technologies, installation and troubleshooting software agents, enhancing system performance, and securing data. You will also be required to advise on IT equipment upgrades.

To ensure success as an IT Support Specialist, you should possess experience and/or the ability to learn to provide Information Technology support in a fast-paced environment. Top-notch IT Support Specialists contribute to increased productivity by ensuring that Labster IT systems run efficiently.

Are you interested in cyber security? This is a cross-trained position. You will be trained and work directly with the Information Security Officer for assigned security projects.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for procurement and inventory management of all hardware
Helping new team members with laptop setup and installing basic software
Developing & implementing global IT polices and procedures in collaboration with Information Security Officer
Providing IT assistance to internal team members
Training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs
Resolving support tickets in a timely manner
Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics
Updating computer software as well as upgrading hardware and systems
Maintaining records of team members systems access and ensuring system security
Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests
Developing and building IT Support portal with tips and best practices for IT HelpDesk Support
Keeping track of technological advancements and trends in IT support
Consulting with departments as required
Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications
 
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
3+ years of experience as an IT Support Specialist
Exceptional ability to provide technical support and resolve queries
Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks
Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users
Knowledge in IT helpdesk software, such as Windows OS, peripherals
Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics is a plus
Knowledge of database maintenance and system security is a plus
Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
