About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a second line Group Risk team in the growth phase and add real value to a growing business that has a great purpose. As a senior member of WorldRemit’s second line Group Risk team you will aim high, embrace challenge and always do what’s right; acting with integrity and building trust as you contribute to the company’s technical direction and long-term decision making.

Reporting to the Head of Risk & Assurance, you will:

  • Deliver group-wide control assurance framework 
  • Lead the engagement with Risk Owners (Exco level) / Leads to conduct / facilitate regular risk identification, assessment and evaluation, ensure ongoing monitoring of set risk appetite 
  • Perform hands on assurance activities addressing financial, operational and technology risk across the business to provide assurance to the Board and ExCo
  • Independently lead complex cross-disciplinary risk projects 
  • Prepare risk reports and deliver findings to Regional Board / Committees
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Senior stakeholders, and facilitate changes to improve the controls environment 
  • Identify opportunities for risk innovation and continuous improvement in the risk process, supporting compliance with the relevant code, legislation and best practice
  • Coordinate and lead risk reporting for stakeholders and board level governing bodies 
  • Implement new group-wide enterprise risk software
  • Support the Head of Risk with risk activities to strengthen the risk culture across the group 


 What we’re looking for from you

  • Established enterprise risk management experience at a large international business - payment services or banking
  • Expertise in one of the domains: counterparty credit / liquidity / external fraud  
  • Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/IIA/CIMA / IRM
  • Excellent working knowledge of US regulation and key areas of regulatory focus from local regulators
  • Proven leadership qualities with ability to build credibility at the highest levels of the organisation
  • Extensive skill and experience in effectively presenting complex information to senior executives 
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated and hands-on approach to working; able to work in a fast paced, dynamic, start-up environment and be able to operate with ambiguity

Salary - (USD) $136,000 - $152,100 (Annually)
