Job Description

Were looking for a People Operations Coordinator to join our team in San Francisco to help manage ReadMe’s day-to-day operations. You’ll be trusted with critical parts of running a startup and be in a position to collaborate closely with all members of the team! We care a lot about doing things that feel human, so a lot of the work will center around optimizing for delight rather than efficiency.
We’re looking for someone based in San Francisco, but no one will be required to work from the office until it is safe to do so!
We're a small team of humans (and one owl) working together to do big things, and we’re growing! That’s where you come in. Since we’re a startup, you’ll have the opportunity to make a huge difference! You’ll have lots of opportunities and flexibility to make outsized improvements to ReadMe beyond your daily responsibilities.

ReadMe helps companies build beautiful, personalized, and interactive developer hubs. We love what we do because it’s so much more than just docs. We’re providing tools for teams to create and manage beautiful documentation with ease. Last year, we raised a Series A led by Accel, which we’re pretty excited about!

✅ What you’ll do here

    • Executive support: Working closely with Greg, our CEO to assist where he needs. This could be in calendar management, coordinating projects, giving personalized gifts, and keeping him accountable to deadlines. You may also work with other members of the executive team!
    • Event organization: Coordinating all office events, meetups, and off-sites.
    • People support: Onboard new team members.
    • Administrative support: Day to day administrative work that helps us get things done!
    • Recruiting: Organizing interviews, communicating with candidates, and helping to ensure an overall delightful candidate experience.
    • Office management: Once we move back into the office, acting as the liaison between employees and building management and outside vendors, and start to help with office operations like owning office perks! 
    • We’ll incorporate whatever you’re excited about! There’s a lot to do, and we’d love to build the role around you.

🌱 How you'll grow within one month

    • Get to know Greg, the People team, and everyone else at ReadMe!
    • Begin to support Greg by becoming familiar with his needs, and managing his calendar.
    • Get a feel for the regular tasks you’ll be doing on the job.
    • Find creative ways to add a dash of whimsy to people’s days.

3️⃣ Within three months, you'll...

    • Start to figure out where your time is best spent, and be proactive about making things happen.
    • Manage coordination of smaller events, such as weekly virtual meetups Greg runs.
    • Be the change you seek! Initiate projects to improve things where you see fit.

6️⃣ Within six months, you'll...

    • Become the go-to people person at ReadMe! You’ll able to answer questions folks have about things like our time off policy, company events, operations, and anything else that comes up!
    • Help organize larger events such as a virtual (or maybe in person!) offsite.
    • Be involved in high-level operations, such as board meeting, or fundraising prep.
    • Hopefully help us transition back to life in the office!

    • We can’t wait to read your resume and (hopefully personality-filled) cover letter! Let us know what excites you about people operations, and help us get to know you better!
    • If we think we might be a good fit for you, we’ll set up a phone chat! We’ll tell you more about the role, and get a chance to hear about your experiences.
    • Next will be a second phone interview, where we’ll dive a bit more into your background.
    • Then we’ll invite you to an "onsite" interview conducted over Zoom! We start with a 30-minute get-to-know-you with the team so you can meet the people you’ll be working with, and then have you talk with people one on one in the afternoon.
    • We’ll let you know how things went within a week! If it still seems like a good fit all around, we’ll extend you an offer! If not, we will update you to let you know so you aren’t left hanging.

This role will start out remotely due to COVID-19. We want to make sure all our employees feel safe in their work environments! Eventually, this role will be on-site at our San Francisco office. You must be eligible to work in the United States and either be SF-based or willing to move to San Francisco when the office reopens. A relocation package will be provided. We don't work with recruiters.
