Job Description

We’re looking for a Manager, Business Development - Direct to Consumer Initiatives to join our new Partnerships team, within Group Nine Media. As the first member of this team, you’ll play a critical role in developing our DTC strategy. You’ll be based in our New York office and report to the VP, Strategic Finance & Partnerships.

The Manager, Business Development - Direct to Consumer Initiatives will lead by example in demonstrating Group Nine’s values - Care Deeply, Be Brave, Go First, Do Good, Stay Close and Win Together.


  • Be a thought leader for developing and growing our DTC business, leveraging our Brand equity and distribution
  • Monitor and analyze trends and customer data to identify new ways to extend our Brands including new categories, partners and business models
  • Meet regularly with brand leads and key stakeholders to review pipeline, discuss strategy and report progress, ensuring that opportunities align with our Brands and our long range plans
  • Manage existing pipeline and develop new relationships, including identifying and contacting decision makers. Own partner acquisition cycle from first contact to deal close
  • Develop business models to support BD initiatives including modeling the opportunity, setting KPIs for the partnership and supporting deal negotiations
  • Drive towards key milestones to achieve revenue growth goals for this team
  • 4+ years of relevant experience (strategic planning, management consulting, business development or investment banking) or experience with early stage DTC companies
  • Data-driven, strategic problem-solver at heart with strong financial modeling skills
  • You thrive in evolving, fast-paced environments
  • You are relationship driven and confident presenting to leadership and external partners 
  • You have experience leading projects and producing exceptional results
