New Position Hiring - Insurance Coordinator

Job Description

  • Check for pre-benefit authorizations for customers who are interested in Candid services and relay those findings to the customers
  • Act as a liaison between patients and their insurance companies
  • Work in Dentrix Ascend to file both in-network and out-of-network claims based on API insurance status queues (currently, we have around 25-40 claims to file and refile each day)
  • Reach out to patients when we need more information to file their claim
  • Verify patient’s insurance eligibility via Dentrix and via phone calls to insurance companies when applicable
  • On-call and available for direct phone calls via Zendesk for upwards of 4 hours each day
  • Prepared to assist patients with insurance-related questions and cases via Live Chat
  • Work emails in Zendesk and SalesForce
  • Make several outbound calls to insurance companies daily
  • Troubleshoot claim submission and processing errors
  • Make credentialing confirmation calls to insurance companies for each of our billing entity combinations
  • Monitor Support_Insurance and Active Internal Slack channels to support the rest of Candid’s Support Team
  • Process Explanation of Benefits letters
  • Process check information and work directly with Finance to get patients their reimbursement funds
  • Complete paperwork and faxes to submit to insurance companies for patient’s claims upon their request
  • Provide updated training resources to current agents and new-hires when applicable
  • Assist in ongoing billing entity projects
  • Work directly with the Candid Studio and Sales team for insurance-related sales and benefit eligibility

 

Preferred Skill Set

  • Must be a proven self starter
  • Comfortable working on a small team
  • Ability to adapt to changes very quickly and give direction to other team members
  • Proficient using Google Sheets / Excel formula experience
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills
  • Extremely comfortable talking on the phone with insurance companies daily on behalf of Candid-affiliated orthodontists
  • Great communicator with both the team and patients

  • While having a particular insurance experience is not required, it is crucial to know the exact fundamentals of how insurance plays a role within Candid
  • Computer/systems proficient. Comfortable learning new systems and toggling between them
