Job Description

This role offers the right candidate an exceptional opportunity to join our highly efficient legal group at a time when Acceleron is rapidly growing and moving to the next stage of the Company’s life cycle. With a commercialized product and pipeline assets advancing in the clinic, Acceleron is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history and preparing for global growth.

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join Acceleron’s legal department. The primary focus of the position will be in drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts common in the biotechnology industry, including clinical trial related contracts as we conduct global Phase 3 development.

What will you do?

  • Contracts
    • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a high volume and wide range of agreements, including clinical trial, confidentiality, material transfer, services, consulting, and sponsored research agreements.
    • Provide legal support on contracts and help improve, evolve and optimize the contracting process.
    • Work with compliance to facilitate contract review and implement compliance contracts processes.
    • Serve as key reviewer for contracting activities associated with global Phase 3 drug development.
  • Provide other legal support of company activities from time to time based on your interest and company need.

 

What are we looking for?

  • JD from an accredited law school in the U.S. and license to practice law and in good standing in Massachusetts, or ability to register as in-house counsel in Massachusetts.
  • 3-7+ years of relevant contracts experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry and/or equivalent law firm experience required.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting contracts common to biopharmaceutical companies, such as clinical trial, confidentiality, material transfer, services, consulting, and sponsored research agreements, and ability to lead contract negotiations.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively establish and maintain business relationships at all levels of the company and in the legal community.
