Our mission is to become the global standard for addressing. Street addresses weren’t designed for 2021. They aren’t accurate enough to specify building entrances, and they don’t exist for parks, rural areas and many parts of the world. This makes it hard to find places and causes problems and inefficiencies on a global scale.

That’s why we created what3words. We divided the world into 3m squares and gave each square a unique combination of three words. It’s the easiest way to find and share precise locations.

Over the last year, what3words has been used in 193 countries, and our monthly active users continue to grow at an impressive pace. Our tech is used by emergency services, delivery companies, eCommerce businesses, ride-hailing apps and NGOs, and is integrated into the navigation systems of millions of cars around the world.

The Role:

We have ever increasing volumes of businesses using what3words and integrating our technology into their products. We need someone to spearhead our post-sales effort to collect and manage information about these businesses and how they’re using what3words so that we can better understand and report on usage, feed our customer facing product selector tool (https://what3words.com/products/), support account managers and scale our account management operations.

We’re looking for someone with high attention to detail, cross-department stakeholder management experience, demonstrated accountability, comfortable building processes from the ground up, a strong technical understanding of what3words and a keen interest in data.

This role will sit in the Business Development team, reporting into our Business Development Director, and involve working closely with teams across the business to identify their client data needs and requirements, from Product to Marketing, Analytics and Customer Operations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with senior management in the Business Development team to understand and consolidate what information the team needs for all aspects of day-to-day account management, from partner relationship management to billing, upselling and marketing.
  • Designing processes and internal frameworks for scaling our account management operations
  • Full ownership and day to day management of our product selector tool, working closely with our Product team on how we optimise the tool to meet user and business needs
  • Working with teams across the business to interpret their partner data needs from the systems and processes within your control. Finding the best ways to deliver on those needs through the collection, collation, interpretation and presentation of that data
  • Working with account managers to understand and document successful partner usage as case studies and testimonials that can help our Sales team bring in new business
  • Possibly managing a small team

Requirements

  • An excellent internal stakeholder and project manager
  • A great verbal and written communicator - comfortable presenting and running meetings with stakeholders from across the business, including senior company management, and able to explain difficult concepts concisely and in simple terms
  • Equally comfortable digging into the details as being able to zoom out and look at the bigger picture
  • Comfortable with high levels of ownership and accountability - you will be able to take a set of objectives and/or needs and turn them into a plan with deliverables and timelines
  • Analytical - interested in data and motivated to use analytics, insights and data reporting to help what3words scale efficiently
  • Resourceful – able to juggle tasks, deadlines, dependencies, roadblocks and manage multiple stakeholders
  • A problem solver - you will think fast on your feet and offer creative solutions to unblock challenges for the team
  • Happy to take on less glamorous tasks - you won’t shy away from doing the heavy lifting, to roll up your sleeves and do what is required to get the job done


You will have

  • Several years of experience in operations or change/transformation focused roles
  • Experience running projects with cross-functional stakeholders
  • An excellent understanding of what3words and highly motivated by our ambition to become a global addressing standard


Extra credit if

  • You’ve previously had a sales or account manager role, or worked in a business development team
  • You’ve worked in a high-growth startup
  • You have experience managing remote teams
  • You have experience working with Salesforce (or equivalent CRM)
  • You’ve done one something unusual outside of work
  • You are competent on Excel / Google Sheets
