Job Description

As the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), you will be a change agent with the ability to influence and promote a culture of learning and innovation to facilitate the development of the DEI strategic plan at LaunchDarkly. This role will be responsible for both defining strategy as well as moving forward tactical efforts within the organization.

Reporting to the CEO, this person will have a seat at the executive table and will work across the business to optimize organizational culture, set and align LaunchDarkly’s diversity and inclusion goals with business outcomes and provide executive leadership and the broader team updates on DEI efforts.


  • Evaluate and report on current workforce DEI strategies, programs and policies compared to competitive benchmarking and best practices
  • Develop and lead a multi-year strategy and implementation action plan for enhancing staff diversity and inclusion
  • Ensure effective and timely implementation of the workforce DEI action plan for recruiting, compensation, promotion and retention
  • Provide critical input into our recruiting and learning & development strategy to achieve a more diverse and inclusive workforce, leading outreach efforts to organizations who we may partner with for recruitment or learning & development opportunities.
  • Partner with senior leadership and people managers to plan for and accomplish the staff related DEI goals, strategies and activities
  • Lead the development of key metrics to track progress of the workforce DEI strategy, providing key insights and intervention recommendations for further activities
  • Work with ERG Manager to ensure ERGs are supported, as well as formation of new ERG groups


  • 2+ years of DEI management and leadership experience, including in the areas of cultural communications, diversity training, organizational culture, recruitment and development
  • Demonstrated commitment to and proven track-record of advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in a complex, multi-cultural environment through operationalized plans of action within an organization with many countries of origin represented
  • Direct and relevant experience in the creation of a DEI-program from the concept phase to full execution
  • Demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of diverse stakeholders,
  • Outstanding communicator who is adept at using multiple methods of communication with a broad range of stakeholders; exceptional ability to convey complex issues and objectives through quantitative, qualitative, and visual means; proven ability to be persuasive and engaging
  • Ability to function to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved
  • A high level of individual initiative and drive; ability to manage time efficiently; strong problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Understanding of Human Resources and Organizational Development principles, policies and practices
