These are exciting times for Metromile: we’ve recently become a publicly traded company on Nasdaq and have announced we’re expanding our product to 21 states in 2021. Today, the IT team is building the foundation to ensure Metromile grows, scales and adapts quickly. The IT Coordinator will provide the day-to-day IT support for all employees and offices, and will learn the latest in IT tools and technology.

Our ideal team member is comfortable being hands-on for equipment setup and a patient communicator for remote troubleshooting. If you are passionate about success with technology, refining employee experience, we will take your career to the next level.

You Will:

  • Support the day-to-day IT experience for Metromilers in our San Francisco, Tempe and Boston offices; as well as our increasing number of work-from-homers.
  • Participate in the Welcome and Departures teams on-boarding and off-boarding Metromilers by supporting orientation, setting up and wiping computers, shipping out and receiving equipment, and completing associated processes.
  • Work with SaaS tools including Google Workspace, Atlassian Cloud, Slack, OneLogin, Vonage, Egnyte, Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, and Zoom.
  • Handle procurement and logistics of employee computer equipment.
  • Triage issues and requests in Jira Service Management, Slack, email, remotely and in person (only under essential circumstances during COVID-19).

About You: 

  • Enthusiastic about technology. You believe tech should simplify and enable; not complicate and frustrate.
  • Sense of ownership. Metromilers are relieved when they know their request is with you.
  • Experience buying hardware and building a computer.
  • You’re Inquisitive. You don’t have all of the answers but you’re great with a search engine and, most importantly, you’re not afraid to ask questions.
  • Ability to move and setup equipment, process shipping and receiving of IT supplies, and keep inventory physically organized and tracked.
  • Excited to take on any task big or small, and driven to help our organization (including you) learn and grow.
  • Thrives in a highly adaptable team and high growth company.
  • Able to WFH but also has capability to go to the office to provide support of essential business functions during COVID-19 or shelter-in-place on a regular basis.

Nice to Have : 

  • Knowledge using a ticketing platform.
  • Experience working in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience rebuilding and installing macOS and Windows on a computer.
