The Director Product Marketing will play an important role in driving continued growth for Zelis by developing and implementing payer-focused product marketing strategies for Zelis’ payments products. The Director will be a product expert and will own end-to-end plans to build brand awareness for Zelis’ payments products, develop compelling ways to differentiate Zelis in the market, generate leads, and support the sales process. The director will also be responsible for understanding the voice of the customer and gathering competitive insights to inform plans.
The Director will have influence on setting the commercial vision and strategy for payments products, in close partnership with Sales and Account Management, and the Payments BU.  The Director will demonstrate a strong track record of success with deep commercial Payer marketing expertise, leading marketing implementation across a matrixed organization, leveraging exceptional analytical insight and a proven ability to prioritize, and managing complex and innovative projects.  
To succeed, the Director must be highly entrepreneurial and driven, with strong cross-functional capabilities and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape to support new products to bring to market. 
The ideal candidate will be an innovative, collaborative, product-centric professional who understands the value of leveraging competitive intelligence to make business, client and budgeting decisions. This key role will help Zelis gain important traction in the marketplace as well as drive the development of marketing strategies and tactics to drive improved results and better marketing ROI.
The Director will build critical partnerships across the organization with teams and leaders in Product, Payments Business Units, Account Management, and Sales in order to package and position our solutions in compelling and convincing ways for the payer/payments marketplace. 
  • Be a Strategic Advisor: Provide product-based, strategic guidance for key marketing decisions. Use competitive intelligence as well as commercial goals to define strategic roadmap that can address key business challenges and leverage key wins for Zelis.  
  • Product-Centric Decision Maker: 
  • Lead market research, diligence, and valuation activities to manage, prioritize and execute pipeline programs.
  • Develop and execute market preparation plans and create early brand plans for pipeline assets
  • Partner with VP Product Marketing and other team members to ensure analytics are established for tracking market penetration and response to collateral
  • Define and orchestrate team execution of product marketing strategies and deliverables, including new product go-to-market plans / launches, partner programs, and enablement materials for our customers and their users - all in service of driving adoption.
  • Develop a best-in-class, matrixed workflow for all marketing projects and assets-able to re-prioritize and re-allocate resources quickly and ensure no detail is too small.
  • Leverage customer and market information to identify and assess business opportunities which create customer value and profitably grow the business.
  • Product Expertise: Define the most efficient marketing mix- social media, referral programs, display, SEO/SEM, email marketing, retargeting, and mobile and Partner with Creative, Communications, Media, CX team; along with business stakeholders; to define goals and deliverables of all projects-from one-off emails to end-to-end brand campaigns.
  • Work with marketing and business analytics on competitive intelligence activities
  • Be a subject matter expert on health care providers and other key care delivery stakeholders.
  • Craft engaging audience-specific marketing assets and content, including case studies, solution briefs, web content, presentations, data sheets, whitepapers and sales playbooks that can be utilized across the organization.
  • Develop product positioning, messaging and value propositions for future verticals
  • Oversee the development of all brand specific payer resources and act as a liaison with all cross-functional teams to ensure pull-through activities are aligned with brand objectives and priorities. 
  • Be a trusted partner: Serve as a partner to the marketing team, product teams and sales and account management to make informed marketing decisions to successfully position, sell, and service client-centric solutions.  Help ensure that communication and campaign decisions, positioning, selling, and servicing are supported by data to support decision-making.  Support the strategic/brand planning process by evaluating market conditions to identify growth opportunities and assisting in the development of tactical and strategic plans to grow
  • 7+ years of successful and progressive work experience in B2B marketing; most recently product marketing /market access / brand strategy / payer or channel account management experience
  • Channel experience (Commercial (Payers & PBMs) preferred)
  • Strong product positioning methodology and rigorous process.
  • Experience in translating insights and strategies into effective marketing tactics
  • Demonstrated understanding of Payer landscape
  • The preferred candidate must exhibit capabilities in payer and(or) provider strategy and have a familiarity with the challenges & opportunities within the market space as it transitions from Fee-For-Service model of care to Fee-For-Value reimbursement model.
  • Must be a self-starter and quick learner with the desire to learn new tools and techniques 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to help articulate customer and business needs
  • Experience continuously leading and re-prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadline
  • Must be a critical thinker capable of producing applied insights and problem-solving
  • Agile, driven and dedicated to delivering fast turnarounds and high-quality results under tight timelines.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship-building and influence skills to build cross-functional partnerships in a matrixed environment.
  • Attention to detail- ability to manage logistics and tactical details with flawless execution
  • Familiarity with Account-Based Marketing a strong plus
  • Ability to travel as needed, not exceeding 20%
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s preferred
