Job Description

Located 30 minutes outside of Boston, Desktop Metal (NYSE: DM) is pioneering a new generation of additive manufacturing technologies focused on the production of end-use parts. We offer a portfolio of integrated additive manufacturing solutions for engineers, designers and manufacturers comprised of hardware, software, materials and services. Our solutions span use cases across the product life cycle, from product development to mass production and aftermarket operations, and they address an array of industries, including automotive, aerospace, healthcare, consumer products, heavy industry, machine design and research and development.  At Desktop Metal, we believe additive manufacturing, commonly referred to as 3D printing, is one of the most exciting and transformational technology innovations of our time.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be working closely with various stakeholders and finance leadership to provide timely and effective forecast data, analysis, and recommendations to help make business decisions to drive the company toward its strategic goals. This position will be a key contributor in the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term goal setting processes of all DM subsidiaries (US and International). This role will also assist in management and external financial reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely annual budgets, monthly forecasts and strategic analysis in support of DM subsidiaries long-term strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with key business unit stakeholders to review financial performance and to understand changes in the business that impact the forecast
  • Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly management reporting packages for all subsidiaries
  • Engage functional business leaders to provide timely and relevant financial information and analyses to enable sound decision making
  • Build and maintain multi-year P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting models for all subsidiaries
  • Assist with monthly financial close to ensure integrity and accuracy of revenue, COGS, expense reporting, and financial consolidation of all subsidiaries
  • Prepare monthly financial operating results for each business units, provide commentary to explain variances between actual results and/or budget/forecast and identify key trends, variances, and areas of opportunity
  • Establish globally consistent financial KPIs that measure performance against targets and provide leadership with actionable insights
  • Partner with the operations team to analyze cost, yield, utilization and relevant operations activities
  • Partner with IT to identify and enhance reporting capabilities and business processes using business intelligence tools and ERP system
  • Support SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reporting requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or similar subject area, MBA a plus
  • Minimum of five+ years of financial analysis experience; strong understanding of financial statements and financial models
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in high growth environment, public companies with international operations
  • Excellent communication, analytical and quantitative skills, including high level of attention to detail and a willingness to lead change
  • Possesses exceptional organizational skills and a willingness to manage multiple projects within a deadline driven environment
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Infor (Syteline) ERP System, Power BI and Prophix, a plus
