About the Role
The Recipe Editor will manage the process in the Good Eggs Test Kitchen to make simple, fresh, home-cooked dinners as hassle-free as humanly possible. This position will manage the translation process from concept to recipe card, with particular focus on making sure that recipes meet Good Eggs’ culinary tenets and that our welcoming, optimistic, warm and encouraging brand voice is maintained.
Responsibilities
- Strong recipe writing and copy editing skills; specifically, writing recipes in a concise and digestible manner for novice cooks
- Maintain recipe brand voice and style guide
- Edit meal kit recipes for clarity, fit, voice, and style
- Ensure accuracy and clarity of recipe and eliminate recipe errors if/when product changes are made
- Interact easily and confidently with multiple stakeholders to ensure recipe deadlines are met
- Manage recipe development process with multiple contributors
- Support creation of production side recipes to ensure that Good Eggs Kitchen components are aligned with customer expectations
- Maintain a safe and well-organized working environment
- Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years professional working experience in recipe editing
- Degree in Culinary School, Nutrition, Food Science or Journalism preferred
- Outstanding writing skills across recipe and prose
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Proactive, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment
- Committed to providing quality goods, championing local purveyors, and advocating for environmental stewardship.
- Strong Google Suite skills and an aptitude for learning proprietary software
- Excellent command of grammar and the English language
- Food safety certification and nutritional analysis knowledge preferred
