Burrow designs and manufactures innovative furniture that makes so much sense, people wonder why it hasn’t always been this way. We utilize extensive customer data and research to create the most convenient and comfortable end-to-end experience for our customers, from shopping to shipping to living with to moving furniture. We sell predominantly online at burrow.com and operate our own retail store in Soho in New York City. Our headquarters are in Nomad in New York City.



Burrow is seeking a VP of Operations to manage and grow our Operations Team. In this role, you will own daily operations, including everything from supply chain to internal process improvement. The ideal candidate will be a cross-functional leader who can effectively drive operational efficiency with the goal of ensuring customer satisfaction. This role reports to the CFO.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning – work with executive team members to build Burrow’s roadmap for its operations footprint, including international expansion
  • Cross Functional Project Leadership – plan and execute large cross-functional projects
  • Business Improvement – lead data-driven, technology-enabled improvement efforts to help Burrow efficiently scale, make smarter business decisions, and improve customer and profitability metrics
  • Customer Experience – responsible for customer experience metrics and managing customer support team; work with Retail team on establishing and growing omni-channel sales organization
  • Product Quality – manage relationships with key factories to ensure consistent production volume and quality; facilitate user testing programs to help identify opportunities for improvement and support in testing
  • Supply Chain Optimization – work with Product Development and Sourcing teams to optimize product materials, packaging, and production to maximize product margins and production capacity
  • Inventory Management – manage the team responsible for daily oversight of items fulfillment, returns management, costing accuracy, inventory management, accuracy of inventory receipts, and integration management
  • International Freight – manage inventory transportation from factories in multiple countries to warehouses in the U.S. and Canada
  • Warehousing and Fulfillment – establish and own relationships with 3PL partners, and oversee daily warehousing and fulfillment operations
  • Last Mile Distribution – establish and own relationships with small parcel carriers and last-mile delivery partners

Job requirements


  • 8+ years of operations experience, including 5+ years in a managerial role in purchasing, inventory, and logistics, or a related field – experience with a direct-to-consumer physical products company is a must
  • Demonstrated ability to scale operations at a consumer physical products company
  • Experience in inventory management modeling, forecasting, reporting and automation
  • Proven track record in building, managing and leading teams
  • Experience working with NetSuite (ERP)
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Necessary business travel, both international and domestic (~10% annually)
