Job Description

Check is looking for a Partner Success Manager to build and grow our Partnerships function from the ground up. While payroll can be complicated, at Check our mission is to make paying people simple.
 
We’re looking for an experienced individual who wants to challenge themselves at the intersection of several fields. You’ll need to become an expert in the emerging API infrastructure and embedded fintech landscape, but also in the decades-old world of payroll. Based on that expertise you’ll then guide Check’s positioning, packaging, and promotion strategy to both our partners and our partner’s customers.
 
As a Partner Success Manager, you will own relationships with named partner accounts, onboard new partners, and drive go-to-market activities. The ideal candidate should be able to create a strategic vision for their partners and bring their plan to fruition. You will work closely with all parts of the company, including Product, Partner Development, Integrations, and other functions.

Responsibilities:

    • Manage executive-level relationships with Check’s partners (software partners focused on serving SMB to mid-market customers)
    • Lead the go-to-market process for new partners including sales enablement and marketing, with the end goal of identifying joint value propositions, aligning Check and partner teams, and building best-in-class solutions on the partner platform
    • Ideate and own monetization, product, and growth strategies to achieve user and revenue targets
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product, sales, and customer success to drive key initiatives both within Check and with our partner organizations
    • Track partner performance against goals and share learnings on how and where to improve
    • Collaborate and problem-solve at all levels of the partner’s organization and become the connector to different stakeholders within Check

Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates:

    • Have 7+ years of total work experience, with 4+ years of proven success in business development, customer success, or related field. Some product experience is a plus
    • Have an entrepreneurial mindset
    • Are product-oriented and familiar with APIs
    • Have experience with data analytics and financial/operational metrics. Data is your friend
    • Have exceptional communication skills
    • Take a consultative approach in addressing partner needs
    • Are detail-oriented and highly skilled in project management amid complex, ambiguous situations
    • Have strong leadership credentials and high energy level to match Check’s fast-paced, start-up environment
    • Are able to travel up to ~20% of the year to attend industry conferences and visit partners in person (barring travel restrictions)
Our team is distributed across the US, with hubs in New York City, San Francisco, and Atlanta.
