Roles and Responsibilities

  • Planning and development of a given product ( or products).
  • Understanding the Market requirement and positioning the product strongly in the market .
  • Extensively drive product level penetration plan.
  • Development, evaluation and the management of overall Product strategy.
  • Developing business for the given product. Implementing the sales and marketing strategy for the given product.
  • Responsible for providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product.
  • Responsible for preparing product forecasts, and constantly monitoring inventory levels held at central and interstate warehouses including liaison with production (factory) to ensure supply timelines.
  • Assist with the development of the annual marketing plan and for controlling advertising, promotion and sales aid.
  • Drive the Marketing Activities in the region/product enhance market penetration and sales volume.
  • Business and development - communicates the value propositions of the products to the sales team and develops the sales tools that support the selling process.
  • Demand Generation- develop strategies to manage the programs that drive demand for products.

Assist the sales training on product positioning - ensure all sales members can internalize and clearly communicate the product positioning and message

  • Data Analysis Absorb information from syndicated data (SPINS, Nielsen). Be able to assess market conditions and identify areas of improvement. Utilize internal sales programs for performance and budgeting. Present these numbers in a clear, concise fashion for sales calls, sales training or HQ requests.
  • Sales Presentations Develop effective presentations that outline current market conditions, market trends, customer needs and our competitive advantages. Utilize data analysis, store audits and any relevant information that can be gleaned from broker/distributor reps, store personnel or industry peers.
  • Budget Management Understand what budgetary goals of company are and work within allotted scope with regard to trade spending, slotting, etc. when developing sales programs to drive incremental volume or new distribution. Must monitor business conditions and be able to keep expenditures in line up with volume.
  • NPDs/EPDs :

Draw up and deploy the Product Development brief in conjunction with Category, Supply, Sales and Finance functions.

Regularly survey and understand consumer, market environment to understand trends capture ideas and develop concepts which lead to product development.

Ensure timely and within cost development of products as per the brief

Ensure successful Launch to sales and in field launch (including providing support to the launch in terms of POS, Advertising etc.)

Desired Candidate Profile

Min 4 Years & above of experience in Sales & Marketing with minimum one year experience in
Marketing Activations & Product Development.

High level of communication ability and presentation skills.
