Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Managers to understand the product strategy in order to create and document business and functional requirements
  • Engage with other departments and employees to understand, gather, and document their business and technology requirements
  • Serve as a business champion that enables teams to better understand Relay’s business and customers
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis
  • Create, document, and revise functional specifications, as necessary, throughout the development lifecycle
  • Provide low-fidelity wireframes
  • Facilitate sprint planning meetings
  • Coordinate with team members on release schedule and features
  • Coordinate with varying levels of Tech Leadership to ensure product readiness, service level compliance, knowledge transfer and smooth service transition
  • Create industry standard business requirement documentation that will feed into the development cycles
  • Understand team velocity, pain points in development, risks and be able to communicate these with management
  • Responsible for story sign-up, understanding burn-up/down chart, and cycle time
  • Interpret customer business needs and translate them into software development requirements
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, clarity and simplification of business and functional specifications
  • Manage day-to-day tasks productively, without management direction

Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in software products and agile development teams
  • Enterprise B2B product experience
  • Familiarity with lean product design and agile development methods
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools, issue tracking tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Strong knowledge of business domain, finances, revenue/cost centers, usage patterns, regulatory concerns, competitors, market cycles, etc.
  • Critical thinking and analytics skills in a software development environment
