Job Description

As device makers think about how to increase the level of interactivity to seamlessly integrate phones, tablets and other consumer devices into our everyday lives, there is a clear need for touch and force sensing beyond the screen. For Sentons, every surface is an opportunity for interactivity. We have developed an innovative new sensor technology using ultrasound that can make any surface touch and force sensitive. Our core products are our sensor chips and sensor controllers, and we work with top customers to design custom sensor modules for their products.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

In this role, the key responsibilities are the following:

  • Bench test, debug and validation of both Mixed Signal ICs and touch sensor modules
  • Complete system characterization and spec compliance testing for touch sensors in high-volume consumer electronics products
  • Debug of chip level, board level and sensor level issues
  • Development and execution of scripts (i.e. Python, Matlab) to validate IC and sensor over Process, Voltage, Temperature
  • Management of lab resources including managing technician day-to-day tasks, maintaining inventory for parts, tools and equipment, creating SOPs for common tasks
  • Generation of reports

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, MS or higher is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with touch sensor characterization and debug
  • Familiarity with touch sensor technologies and performance metrics
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and Excel to collect, analyze, and present characterization data
  • Skill with report generation and data visualization
  • Experience with bench evaluation of mixed signal ICs
  • Good knowledge in PCB board design, debug and development
  • Good experience in coding skills (Python, Perl, C++, Shell, Matlab) and knowledge of test equipment programming for automating laboratory measurements
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with diverse teams

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
