Our Infrastructure team is looking to add an Engineer and continue to advance the cloud capabilities and services/systems for our internal engineering teams. As part of our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring Olive’s applications build, deploy and run smoothly. You’ll help keep our infrastructure up to date, and use new and existing tools to solve technical problems. At Olive, automation, reliability and efficiency are part of everything we do.

Requirements

Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Build specialized data-layer services for data-intensive parts of the system.
Analyze applications and make the necessary changes to optimize performance.
Diagnose and resolve issues promptly and in accordance with maintainability goals.
Work with a variety of technical and non-technical people.
Embrace changing requirements.
Be part of an on-call rotation with other members of the Infrastructure team
Create and maintain efficient, reliable infrastructure with code
Build and maintain tools for deployment, automation, monitoring, and debugging
Drive automation using popular cloud orchestration, configuration management, and CI/CD system
Responsible for consulting and assisting with the implementation of new capabilities, extending, and administering existing capabilities for:
Automated build and deploy
Automated database migrations
Static code analysis and scanning
Automated smoke, functional, and regression testing
Configuration management
Infrastructure automation
Preferred programming and scripting languages include: SQL, PowerShell, Python, PHP, Bash, C/C++, C#

Qualifications

4+ years of Systems Engineering experience
A strong understanding of operating systems, networking, and software engineering fundamentals
Experience using AWS or other virtualized infrastructure
Significant experience with config management tool like Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, Ansible, etc.
Experience managing a container-based microservice architecture, including orchestration, service-discovery, monitoring, and debugging
Proficient in a scripting language (Bash, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.)
Experience orchestrating infrastructure using CloudFormation, Terraform, or other similar tooling.
Experience building Linux and Windows systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, ContainerLinux, etc.)
Administrative experience with SQL and No-SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB) (installation, configuration, tuning
Strong familiarity with containers and container-orchestration frameworks particularly Kubernetes
Networking, automation, and high-level infrastructure architecture experience
Experience with IPSEC and/or SSL based VPNs (LibreSwan, OpenSwan, StrongSwan, OpenVPN)
Deploying or managing infrastructure across AWS AZs and regions.
LDAP/DNS/PKI experience
Familiarity with the Go programming language
