Meet the Creators and Admins Team! 

The mission of the Creators and Admins Team is to provide tools to support the experience of users that organize communities and content on our platform. Our team looks for ways to redefine what it is to be a contributor and push the boundaries of our offerings. Content is the lifeblood of Fandom, it brings consumers to our sites. Creators create and edit the content, moderators defend against spam and vandalism, administrators organize efforts, and staff keep the wheels moving. Big or small, every contribution from these users is important as they have a meaningful impact on communities and our business goals.

 

As a Senior Software Engineer for our Creators and Admin Team, you will report to the Manager, Software Engineering. You have experience as a full-stack developer and can write code in JavaScript but also open to take a look at backend written in PHP/Java. You can provide well-structured, tested, maintainable and useful software.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Optimising apps for the best performance
  • Writing unit and integration tests
  • Taking part of end-to-end app design process (including product decisions, APIs and FE solutions)
  • Solving both technical and business challenges
  • Sharing knowledge with others
  • Giving feedback to your peers
  • Proposing new solutions, ideas, and approaches to both technical and business processes

You have…

  • Min. 4+ years of professional experience with JavaScript and modern frameworks (we use React)
  • Experience with developing large scale, highly-trafficked and dynamic websites
  • Understanding and appreciating the full stack of modern web applications from server's bare metal to the user's browser
  • Passion for delivering well-structured, tested, maintainable and useful software quickly
  • Willingness to seek and provide constructive feedback
  • Ability to work with distributed teams in different time zones
  • Good English skills
  • Business-oriented mindset

Bonus points if you... 

  • Have experience with other object-oriented languages such as PHP, Python or Java will be advantage
  • Contribute to open source projects
  • Are passionate about something outside of your job and like to geek out about
