Are you an experienced Technical Product Manager that thrives on partnering with business & technical teams to deliver a top-notch Loan Origination solution?   Does the idea of leveraging your experience to help set the direction of the products/features needed to create a best-in-class customer experience move you?  Our Product leadership team is looking for an innovative Sr. Technical Product Manager (Loan Origination team) who will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to take on our toughest business challenges and define compelling solutions for our customers.  As a Sr. Technical Product Manager at Oportun, you’ll work with some of the brightest UX designers, engineers and business units while also developing your skills and furthering your career within one of the most innovative and progressive FinTech companies today. 


Currently we serve our customers online, over the phone, or in one of our Retail locations. We want to provide our customer experiences also in Mobile App and expand our customer engagement beyond the initial transactional activities. The first steps are to define and build the Mobile App platform and roadmap from the ground up.

You also listen to the business need, and demonstrate product and thought leadership to provide solution options.
  • You seek data and customer input to understand challenges we need to solve and measure the performance and impact of our products
  • You have a point-of-view on innovative solutions, and will be a thought partner with our cross-functional teams to drive change and business results



  • 10+ years of Technical Product Management experience, including product analytics to support data-driven decision making.
  • Experience in the financial services / fin tech industry, including innovative fintech technologies and solutions.
  • Experience with loan origination, customer and/or agent facing experience.
  • Willing to be “hands-on” in the details end to end with the business and legal, developers, testing and production support.
  • Experience working with business and technology executives from many disciplines (strategy, risk, operations, fraud, technology, business intelligence, finance, training, legal, compliance, cybersecurity) to understand the needs, define features, and prioritize and manage scope to operate in an iterative agile delivery framework.
  • Detail-oriented, willing to work all use cases, customer flows, and edge cases within our team, and with other teams in the customers end-to-end experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic debug tools and query languages to support technical products development and production (SQL, MongoDB, Inspector), with the ability to understand APIs and troubleshoot technical issues.


  • Working knowledge of standard lending processes & procedures is preferred.
  • Experience with mobile and native technologies preferred.
  • Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish) is a plus.
