Position Overview

Katapult is looking for a highly talented, hands on Senior Front-End Developer to join our team of highly talented technical developers.  In this role you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical talent to helping develop high quality code deliverables, testing and implementation.  You will also be responsible for mentorship of other team members and helping develop a culture of teamwork, learning and collaboration.  Note that all staff are currently working remote due to COVID. This position will report to Engineering Manager.


Job Duties 

  • Responsible for implementing efficient and reusable front-end systems
  • Will be responsible for developing accurate scope of work projects
  • Must be able to understand legacy code and work around technical debts
  • Propose long term solutions to existing problems and find a path to get there in iterations
  • As a senior developer, will assist in mentoring other team members
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changes based on business needs
  • Responsible for staying abreast of new technologies and how Katapult can benefit from such technologies
  • Will be a liaison with the Integration Manager to provide support to our online retailers
  • Incumbent will work across multiple teams in varying time zones and must be available as needed.



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in front end development in a financial services environment preferred.
  • Experience with responsive web applications, specifically Angular 2.0 and above and React 15.0 and above
  • Experience with MVC Architecture
  • Must have application experience in Typescript, JQuery, HTML and CSS
  • Basic understanding of Django templates
  • Knowledge and understanding of how CDN’s work
  • Experience in frontend testing (Selenium, Jasmin, etc.)
  • Agile software development experience
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written


Preferred Qualifications 

  • Understanding of PCI Compliance
  • Experience in Prototyping
  • Secure software development practices
  • Basic knowledge of e-commerce platforms like Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.
  • Experience in optimizing and upgrading legacy systems
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Experience in Python development
  • Understanding of mobile application development

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills
