We are seeking to hire a NPI Program Manager to join our growing team based at our corporate headquarters in Andover, MA which is located about 30 minutes north of Boston, MA, USA.

 

The NPI Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to lead all supply chain operational activities associated with new product launch to execute to customer requirements. This includes driving product schedules, product builds, production setup, DFM, test, BOM, material and logistics readiness for each program.  This includes, but is not limited to, program readiness, tracking scheduling, material planning, manufacturing, and overall program timeline, including readiness to enable technical requirements, supply qualification and factory readiness, clear to build (CTB) for build phases, and optimizing supply planning to ensure on-time program schedule.  This role is a primary interface between Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Supplier/Manufacturing Partner(s).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Drive NPI operational readiness to meet customer requirements. Work with internal cross functional team members to establish program plans and mitigations to enable execution to time sensitive NPI programs.
  • Primary responsibility is to lead all operational activities associated with new product launch to execute to customer requirements. This includes leading product quotations and cost reviews, driving product schedules, production setup, DFM, test, BOM, material and logistic readiness. 
  • Own supply chain communications for NPI program readiness. Work closely with internal team and customer to set right expectations on product schedule and deliverables.
  • Lead in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing and product development teams, as well as supply chain specialists, manufacturing engineers, and logistics personnel.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage material readiness for delivering time-critical components to prototype builds during development. Including tracking and validation of the quality of any incoming material.
  • Drive, track and report development build execution status and manage issues to closure to ensure operation readiness of product.
  • Prior to mass production, and as part of ramp-up execution, ensure the production and Planning team are prepared to manage day to day delivery of product to the desired goals.
  • Create solutions to solve complex business and technical solutions.
  • Key decision maker and lead for NPI engagement with Engineering.
  • Manage any component and/or tooling changes throughout development while minimizing any impact to development milestones.
  • Inventory control for mechanical components for NPI programs.
  • Provides input on tactical and strategic process improvements in establishing policies/standards.
  • Works directly with multi-function teams and suppliers to address issues that may impact schedule and supply
  • Manages material availability for pre-production builds, product deviations to meet the production ramp plan, as well as presenting program ramp status in weekly meetings.
  • Works with Strategic Sourcing Manager, Engineering, and Operations Manufacturing teams to meet direct material cost objectives; develops BOM cost for Production.
  • Works opportunities for cost reduction by design, quality enhancements and strategic decisions.
  • Drive transformation of NPI launch methodology.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in Program Management and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Experience in manufacturing and product development required.

  • A deep understanding of the development cycle (and acronyms!) from Concept > R&D > POC > Proto > EVT > DVT > PVT > Ramp > MP.
  • Excellent leadership, data presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to think strategically and broadly to comprehend, communicate, and drive complex design trade-offs.
  • Ability to rapidly understand new technologies.
  • A results-oriented and dedicated personality with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • A tendency to remain flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Extraordinary ability to build relationships.
  • Experience working in an outsourced manufacturing process with CM’s and ODM’s globally.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication along with presentation experience.
  • Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.
  • Proven work experience in project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Salesforce.com.
