Job Description

Guideline is looking for an experienced and motivated technical architect to take the ownership of our salesforce.com Sales, Support, and Marketing Cloud applications.

Our first commercial product – Guideline 401(k) – has been doing remarkably well in the marketplace. Following a $80 mil funding round, we work to efficiently and reliably support the increasing business volume and to launch new products.

What will you be working on?

In this position you will be responsible for the entire SFDC technology stack, including configurations, workflows, custom application functionality, integrations, as well as the vision and the roadmap for the future state of the system. Equally importantly, you will serve as a playing coach for the business teams’ super-users to enable their taking over day-to-day admin work so you can focus on moving the application functionality forward.

The Team

Guideline is a technology company. We feature a fully fledged engineering team, which created the majority of technology the company operates on. You will work closely with our technical and business teams distributed across the continental US with the principal office locations in the SF Bay Area, San Diego, Austin, and Portland, ME. This position will report to the Director of Information Technology.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on configuration of all new and existing functionality including custom objects, page layouts, validations, workflows, process builders, reports/dashboards, and customized applications to support internal and customer-facing Salesforce environments.
  • Build new Salesforce applications for Sales, Service, and Marketing Cloud. For Marketing Cloud, create, test, and deploy email campaigns including personalization and dynamic content.
  • Train the super-users to become system administrators for their respective teams. Assist application users by tracking, analyzing, and solving user problems based on an understanding of business process workflow within the application. Serve as a technical escalation point for the super-users.
  • Assist the super-users in preparing materials and conducting the end-user training sessions, creating user guides, system workflows, and other application documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CTO in deciding on Salesforce roadmap and strategy. Provide Salesforce platform expertise and architectural governance. Build/maintain a technical SFDC roadmap that supports our business roadmaps as they evolve.
  • Work with team members to develop specifications and technical designs for complex projects using a combination of out of the box features and custom code. Effectively leveraging Salesforce configuration and technical/functional capabilities to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Keep up to date with Salesforce releases, features, best practices, and the larger ecosystem.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and integrate 3rd party technologies.
  • Maintain an ongoing comprehensive understanding of the cloud-computing ecosystem.

Required qualifications
