Job Description

About the role and about You:

Established in 2014 as a tech business, we are now expanding and are in the process of developing ground breaking Zwift hardware. This is a big and exciting change for us, and because of this, we are looking to build a global Supply Chain team.

This role will establish and lead all planning functions on a global basis; you will set up our demand and supply planning processes, as well as implement a robust S&OP process. Planning is going to be a critical function for Zwift, so you’ll also be growing and developing a team, and be responsible for making sure our supply chain is fit to meet our business ambitions and keep our customers happy. We are going to launch quickly, and we expect to grow quickly too -so there’s a lot to be done and we need someone who loves a challenge, and is ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

About Zwift:

Zwift is the fitness company born from gaming, and we are on a mission to make More People. More Active. More Often. The Zwift platform delivers an at-home training game that connects cyclists and runners in over 195 countries and counting! Launched from the sunny shores of Long Beach, California in 2014, we’ve grown to over 300 Watopians (that’s what we call our employees) and we have people in New York, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, and London.

Some reasons we think you will love it here:

We are an encouraging, innovative, and passionate team. We like bikes. We like running. We also like local ice cream shops, game nights, and our "Pets of Zwift" Slack channel. You will be surrounded by awe-inspiring people, even in your remote work setting. Although there are amazing athletes that work here; our team consists of people from all walks of life. Whether you are a current Zwifter, at the beginning of your fitness journey, or neither one of these, there is a place for you here. Different perspectives are important, they allow us to continually grow and evolve - One Zwift for All!

Did we mention that we encourage you to work out while you work from home? Zwift, run, yoga….we’re in!

How we are handling Covid-19:
We are beyond grateful to continue to grow as a company during this unusual time. Our #1 priority is to ensure the health, safety, and sanity of our current and future Watopians. We want to share with you what we are doing and what you can expect.

Since March, all of our Watopians have been working remotely and will continue to do so until we know it is safe to collaborate in person again. As you go through the virtual interview process, do not be alarmed if children or pets make a guest appearance. We will not think twice if we get to meet members of your family. If we are fortunate to welcome you to the team, we will get you all the necessary equipment, hardware, and furniture needed to get you ergonomically set up and productive at home.

Work From Home (WFH) life can be challenging in many ways. We have and will continue to take steps that ease some of the burden for our Watopians including:

  • Monthly stipends to help offset additional expenses incurred with WFH.
  • Access to mental health & wellness resources including headspace, unmind, and Spring Health.

We care about you as our candidate too, so let your Talent Engagement Partner know if there is anything we can do to make your interview process go more smoothly. We are in this together and always looking for ways to enhance our new interview experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, implement and own a Planning process across supply and demand, working with the wider supply chain business and other key stakeholders
  • Implement and manage an S&OP process, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance to gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Manage a team of supply and demand planners with responsibility for setting team strategy, growth plans, managing recruitment, the development of team members and making sure we have the right people in the right roles as the business scales
  • Take ownership for forecast accuracy on a short- and long-term basis, and ensure supply plans are fit to meet customer demand
  • Establish and run an inventory management process, setting inventory parameters and safety stock levels, balancing cost of inventory vs. forecasted sales
  • Work in close collaboration with our production team in China, ensuring production is on track to meet plans, and any issues are overcome and resolved
  • Support with the implementation of our ERP system, ensuring it is fit for purpose for the Planning department
  • Sitting within the supply chain leadership team, you will work collaboratively across sourcing, production, logistics and project delivery

What you'll have:

  • A degree in a supply chain, mathematical, business, engineering or other relevant subject
  • 8+ years planning experience - you will have worked in both supply and demand planning and be an expert in both
  • Experience working on a global basis, ideally, if not at least multi continent
  • Experience designing, implementing and managing an S&OP process
  • A background in a manufacturing, consumer goods business and have experience working with contract manufacturers
  • An experienced manager who is passionate about recruiting, leading and building high performing teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - you’ll be able to present to, influence and lead other stakeholders to buy into Planning processes and get the most out of S&OP
  • You will be hands on, practically minded and analytical with a high attention to detail and a passion and interest in numbers

Bonus points:

  • Experience working in the electronics manufacturing industry
  • Experience in ecommerce/D2C
  • Experience implementing an ERP system

How to stand out among the rest:

Your resume/CV is enough to show off your skills, accomplishments, and experience. However, if you choose to include a cover letter introducing us to your awesome personality, we will read that too.

Values:

Of course, we are nothing without our values. Our values ground us. They ensure we run and build a company where people love to work, feel like they are welcomed, included, and belong.  Only then can they thrive and do their best work.  The values we strive to live every day are:

  • Make It Fun
  • Elevate Teammates
  • Cultivate Our Community
  • Always Level Up
  • One Zwift for All
