Job Description

Opus 12 is a Berkeley, California based startup focused on recycling CO2 into higher value products. We are scientists and engineers with a passion for green chemistry and a shared vision to re-write the story of waste carbon dioxide. Our team partners with industry leaders in electrolysis and plant design to implement our technology at scale.

We have an immediate opening for a Workplaces & People Ops Specialist to join the team.

Job Brief

We are adding a key position on our Operations team, to play a dual role of managing our office and working on People Ops projects. We are looking for someone who sets a high bar for the quality of their work, consistently goes the extra mile, and takes pride in helping create exceptional experiences for others (our team members and external guests). This is a great role for someone who wants to learn a lot on the job and gain work experience in People Ops, with the potential to grow with the company and take on progressive responsibilities over time.

What You Will Do

Office Management

  • Own visitor operations including reception, conference room preparation and team communication
  • Ensure cleanliness and overall organization of all areas of the office
  • Keep up on orders and stocking of office supplies and snacks
  • Assist with the build-out of the new office space and coordinate move-in logistics
  • Receive, distribute and organize incoming mail and packages
  • Communicate proactively with property managers, vendors and contractors

People Operations

  • Organize weekly All Hands meetings and prepare presentations
  • Plan and organize company-wide social events (in person and virtual), team lunches and birthday treats
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation programs
  • Help improve People Operations policies, workflows and processes
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to facilitate an excellent employee experience

Who You Are

  • 1-2 years of experience in Office Management, Administration and/or People Ops
  • Experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • You are organized and process-oriented, with consistent high attention to detail
  • You communicate clearly, effectively and thoughtfully, across multiple verbal or written mediums (e.g. email, Slack, calls, face-to-face); you know your target audience and are adaptive in your communication
  • You have a fine-tuned sense of nuance and discretion, and a high level of professional integrity
  • You are a fast learner, motivated to expand your knowledge by learning from others as well as doing your own research
  • You are a self-starter, proactive in identifying opportunities and/or gaps and taking ownership
  • You are passionate about helping build diverse teams, and believe that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are fundamental to the company’s success
