Alation continues to hire for roles at various locations with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19 crisis. Everyone new to the Alation team, along with our current workforce, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Alation is looking for an experienced partner marketing leader to help us grow our  revenue with ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) including Snowflake, Tableau, AWS, and others, as well as regional channel partners. You will create the marketing strategy to accelerate adoption and sales of Alation products through the partner ecosystem. The role will involve deepening relationships with our key ISV and channel partners while creating joint messaging and programs to drive demand for Alation’s products. While reporting to marketing, you will drive cross-functional collaboration and consensus between marketing, the partner team, and direct sales.

This role requires experience with working with ISV partners, especially in enterprise software. Experience working with regional channel partners, such as systems integrators, is a big plus. The right candidate will have a strong balance of relationship building skills, project management, strategic planning, content creation, and Go-to-Market planning and execution. The ability to advocate for both Alation and our partners is key, as are the diplomatic skills that come from working with a variety of companies, personalities, and geographies. This is a full-time position ideally based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but remote locations will be considered. The role will report to Alation’s Chief Marketing Officer, and will include a moderate amount of travel once travel is resumed.

In This Role, You Can Expect To:

  • Work with the Alation Alliances and go-to-market teams to build strong relationships with ISV partners, drive the creation of joint annual marketing programs with strategic partners to drive adoption, leverage and amplify our messaging, and build partner-sourced pipeline
  • Drive our participation in ISV partner-led marketing programs (e.g. digital marketing, case studies, and webinars/workshops)
  • Create, implement, and analyze ISV partner marketing plans, content and campaign effectiveness, modify strategy based on performance and clearly communicate results to stakeholders
  • Create repeatable campaigns that regional integrators can use to promote their offerings with Alation
  • Develop product-focused knowledge around Alation’s solutions to work with our partners to drive preference toward our products with internal ISV stakeholders
  • Drive the creation of Alation sales plays for specific ISV partners
  • Support monthly and quarterly business reviews with leadership for the ISV Programs.
  • Grow our brand awareness and accelerate internal enablement inside our ISV partners
  • Leverage programs with key partners to build out co-marketing and go-to-market activities
  • Partner with Alation’s revenue team to generate partner-sourced leads that align to our demand generation and go-to-market programs 
  • Stay connected as needed with Field and Channel Marketing programs that include ISV partners.
  • Work closely with the Alation trade show Team to support our presence and marketing efforts around ISV partner trade shows and events
  • Provide guidance, input, and oversight for partner-led material creation (e.g. blogs, press releases, solution briefs, etc.)
  • Work with partners and Alation Corporate Communications to deliver joint customer use cases, awards, and competency achievements
  • Innovate ways to deliver Alation and ISV programs that provide value to customers and partners
  • Provide continuous and proactive proposals to exceed program goals

Must Have:

    • Have 5-10 years of partner marketing experience 
    • Have the ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment with external partners and internal stakeholders
    • Can set and drive the strategic direction of the ISV Partner Marketing function through aligned planning and smart and targeted tactics
    • Are adept at building and maintaining strong relationships
    • Can implement cross-company and cross-team processes and measure/report on performance
    • Have orchestrated successful joint marketing programs across partner and internal teams
    • Able to influence stakeholders to affect desired results. Thoughtful approach from planning to monitoring.
    • Are comfortable with SFDC and other key marketing tools
    • Have a solid understanding of the data, business intelligence, and analytics space
    • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
