About the Role

We are currently searching for a Counsel in our Uber for Business Legal team, with specific expertise advising growing and fast-moving enterprise sales organizations, as well as relevant experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, as well as advising on all phases of the product development life cycle.

What You'll Do

  • Work primarily with our Uber for Business enterprise sales teams, supporting the negotiation and drafting of various agreements for our business-facing products, as well as establishing legal tools and policies to support the sales process
  • Handle the review, drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of contracts including, but not limited to, marketing and promotional agreements, advertising and commercial agreements, strategic relationships and other business and product matters
  • Partner with product teams to understand product, engineering, design, and operational implications of new Uber for Business product launches and initiatives
  • Review products, features, and initiatives related to Uber for Business
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Enterprise Products legal team and other legal teams, such as Employment, Privacy, IP, and Marketing, to provide comprehensive advice, and solve legal problems quickly for the teams you support
  • Draft terms and conditions, FAQs, legal disclaimers, and other policies governing the use of Uber products and services
  • Create and implement policies and practices to ensure consistent implementation of legal guidance and alignment on risks

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in mid-size to large-size law firms and/ or in-house positions, including experience with reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts at a similar size and scale to Uber
  • Handle the review, drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of contracts including, but not limited to, marketing and promotional agreements, advertising and commercial agreements, strategic relationships and other business and product matters
  • Confidence operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to perform in nimble, rapidly changing and growing environments
  • History of driving efficient and strategic use of resources, including technical groups, in-house counsel, vendors, and outside counsel
  • Strong team orientation encouraging communication and cooperation across organizations and functions
  • Inquisitiveness, along with the ability to spot issues, get to the heart of a matter, and articulate plans to address them
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working with business leaders
