About the job

As a Senior PR Manager, you will have the opportunity to help drive our communications strategy, create storytelling opportunities across multiple verticals and build and manage thought leadership efforts for Epic!  

What you will be doing

  • Contribute to and execute our brand communications strategy across multiple verticals. Build and execute high-impact plans that further the awareness and reputation of Epic’s brand and deliver results through an effective combination of strategy, messaging and tactics. 
  • Drive thought leadership efforts for Epic, including building and managing event, speaking and awards calendars across relevant industries.  
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to identify, create and support unique story ideas to secure ongoing coverage across all relevant verticals (publishing trade, educator trade, consumer, etc.) 
  • Manage external agency partners with efficiency, leading the larger team to create strategic plans and deliver strong results. 
  • Play a crucial role in crisis communication and the protection of Epic’s brand and company reputation.  Partner with the Director, Customer Support, Social, Agency and other teams to monitor, manage and respond to incoming media, customer and/or partner requests and complaints.

What you should have

  • 5+ years of experience in PR & communications at a consumer or kids focused technology company or agency.  Experience in children’s media/publishing preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong proofreading and editing skills. Incredible attention to detail, particularly in evaluating written work and messages.
  • Creative and passionate storyteller that can develop strong narratives that can be effectively leveraged across multiple channels and are compelling to each audience.  
  • Skilled at building strong, collaborative working relationships across an organization. 
  • Possess comfort with ambiguity and a desire to solve problems and create impactful solutions. 
  • Experience owning and executing successful programs, launches and campaigns. 
  • A history of developing and placing meaningful stories and strong media relationships in any or all of the following areas: consumer/lifestyle, business/tech, entertainment, publishing trade, education trade (ed-tech).
  • Strong organizational skills, with an innate ability to identify and manage priorities across multiple areas/projects in a fast-paced environment.
