Job Description
We are seeking a collaborative and engaging Sales Engineer to join our team. You will collaborate daily with our Business Development team and Mission Managers to dive deep into client problems. You will be a trusted leader throughout the technology evaluation stage of the sales cycle. In showcasing Govini’s cutting-edge technology through compelling and comprehensive software demos, you will directly affect Govini’s ability to win in the competitive federal landscape.
 
As a Sales Engineer at Govini, you will be the technical expert and product champion; positioning Govini as the category leader in Decision Science for the defense and intelligence communities. Our Sales Engineers participate in meaningful pre-sales meetings, understand our potential customer’s data and pain-points, showcase our technology in an impactful manner, and strategize how to deliver our product suite to them.
 
In order to do this job well, you must be a go-getter who loves to be hands-on with technology. You are energized and love the thrill of closing new sales opportunities. You excel under pressure and are enthusiastic about working with technology to solve meaningful problems. 
 
This is a full-time team member role located in our Arlington, VA office.
This role may require up to 70% travel (post-COVID).

Scope of Responsibilities

    • Present and demo Govini’s software, data capabilities and analytics to executives and senior-level prospective customers 
    • Work hands-on with clients throughout the course of the sales cycle to communicate value and drive towards contract close
    • Create presentations, proposals, or other collateral to support the communication efforts of the BD team 
    • Immerse yourself and build deep knowledge of the industry, competing and complementary products, and how to position Govini in relation to them
    • Define and present compelling tailored value propositions, identify differentiators and demonstrate Govini technology and solutions to clients, prospects and partners
    • Translate difficult technical challenges from our customers to our internal teams to position Govini as the game-changing technology in the Decision Science space
    • Work collaboratively with Product Management, Marketing and Engineering during the development, launch and release of new and existing products

Qualifications

      • US Citizenship is required
 
Required Skills
      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
      • 5+ years software of pre-sales or technical selling expertise in data analytics or SaaS; at least 2 years of experience working with US Government clients
      • Previous experience creating compelling Proofs of Concept and driving value for customers
      • Proven ability to strategically problem solve by thinking outside of the box
      • Expertise presenting and engaging with numerous stakeholders from senior-level executives to analyst end-users
      • Ability to dissect and solve complex problems to produce successful outcomes for future and current customers
      • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
 
Desired Skills
    • Deep knowledge and understanding of federal procurement and supply chain processes
    • Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
    • Current possession of a U.S. security clearance or the ability to obtain one
