Job Purpose
The IT Engineer reports to the Senior IT Manager and is an experienced and knowledgeable engineer in the areas of Device Management, Software Deployment, and Hardware/Software Troubleshooting. They also have experience managing IT systems for a business with over 150 employees, automating IT processes for onboarding/off-boarding, and managing configuration and security policy across corporate devices. They have experience communicating with employees at all levels of seniority across the business. This position has to be versatile enough to contribute to all IT work, no job is too big nor too small. This role largely works on site, at one of our locations in the Bay Area.
At Good Eggs, IT is responsible for network administration (e.g. Meraki), system and software administration (e.g. G Suite, Slack, Dayforce, etc.), identity management (e.g. SAML), technical support, device management in both our HQ and warehouses (e.g. Jamf, barcode scanners, thermal printers, chromebooks, etc.), and security (network, data, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform day to day support and administration including: installation, configuration, monitoring, documentation, and automation of IT infrastructure, network security and corporate systems
    • Help build, scale and maintain system monitoring and alerting tools
    • Deliver world class IT support to all team members by acting as an escalation point and stepping into the ticket queue as needed.
    • Manage MDM/endpoint configuration with tools such as Jamf and Chrome device management
    • Monitor and remediate common VPN, wireless, LAN, and ISP issues using Meraki networking hardware and software
    • Help maintain a growing library of IT documentation and support articles. Write playbooks for how to handle different types of requests and issues.
    • Participate in an on-call rotation for after hours requests.


    • 5+ years of applicable technical experience, including in-person and remote support experience
    • Deep technical knowledge of network infrastructure setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting -- Cisco/Meraki preferred
    • Expert knowledge working with MacOS, ChromeOS and iOS operating systems in a secure MDM environment
    • Strong communicator with exceptional ability to interact with technical and non-technical end-users using tools such as our ticketing system, Slack and internal documentation
    • A self-directed and collaborative team member who prioritizes customer experience above everything else
    • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience in conjunction with industry certifications (macOS, Cisco, Jamf etc.)

Other Requirements

    • Special Requirements:  Ability to walk, stand for long periods of time on a daily basis. Ability to work in cold environments like a warehouse, walking through large coolers and industrial freezers. 
    • Working Conditions: This role works on site in an open concept, warehouse environment.
    • Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear and lift and carry equipment . Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
